An incredible experience from start to finish. We got lucky with the weather given that we were there during the rainy season in September (we only had 1 day of rain in the whole week). AND we were the only two people on this tour with our Guide José Gonzalez so we had lots of time to ask questions and learn about all the beautiful surroundings. The tour started off in the gardens where we learnt about all the plants, herbs, fruits and flowers and how they all play a role in the delicate ecosystem of the rainforest. Jose was a mindful of information about everything and we also chatted about lots of other things Costa Rican too! The juicing of the sugar cane was a ton of fun and we got to drink it right away too. Not to mention the grinding of the cocoa beans into a paste and making our own hot chocolate. This was truly magical. We finished off the tour with a tasty lunch and some really delicious coffee in a space surrounded by birdsong, sunshine + the sounds of frogs in the tropical rainforest. Heaven.

Dylan was our tour guide. Very knowledgeable of the plants and animals as we walked around the grounds. We took the tour on the very last day of August during the rainy season so it was just us. He kept it informational, yet intimate and let us ask many questions. At the end he sat down with us for a snack and coffee, which allowed more conversation about the property etc. He had very good English!

José is a competent and friendly guide, it all seemed super authentic. All questions were answered in detail. He has tailored the tour very individually to us and is there with all his heart. There were very delicious tastings in between and at the end. We were involved again and again, were allowed to touch coffee beans and various herbs and plants and smell them and also help, e.g. squeezing sugarcane juice or peeled cocoa beans. Overall, an all-round successful afternoon. Thank you thank you!! 😀
