Fantastic trip from Quito! Tour operator Quito Tour Bus - Best Trip Ecuador did an excellent job in running the tour and arranging pick-ups and drop-offs (at many locations). Guide Fernando provided great commentary (in English and Spanish) and his relaxed demeaner made the trip even more fun. Driver Andreas did a great job (and driving through Quito in rush hour is an experience in itself). There was a good rest stop on the way out and a very good late lunch (at own costs, but that was known) on the way back. The highlight was seeing the Cotopaxi Volcano through the clouds several times (but realize that weather is out of anyone's control ...)! Also, the relatively short, but tiring hike (less than an hour up) to the Cotopaxi Base Camp was fun to do and makes you experience 4,864 m elevation. All in all, a great trip! Strongly recommended (if you can manage some weather uncertainty and are somewhat fit)!

Our Cotopaxi experience was epic. Fernando was a very knowledgeable guide. He demonstrated leadership in ensuring our safety throughout the trip. Our group was well taken care of. He was also very helpful in answering our questions and meeting our needs. The bus driver was also very professional.

SUCH a beautiful, breathtaking adventure! Irene our guide and Jonathan our driver were so professional and courteous. Big shout-out to Irene especially for being so kind, compassionate, and perceptive of everyone on the tour. Not only were her announcements phenomenal, but when I was struggling with the cold, she helped me recover to a non-shivering state. You will learn so much and see very beautiful things as you go to Cotopaxi, but I will always remember Irene's kindness. Other Notes: Itinerary: Great! The day feels like it moves by so quickly – on the bus, you pass several beautiful streets (e.g., Pan-American Highway) and you learn information about the national park; you visit a mini market for breakfast/snacks/tea/hats/gloves (optional - if you need it!); you visit Cotopaxi Information Center; you take on a hike to base camp; you visit a beautiful lagoon; you have a delicious lunch ($6). Note! The weather at Cotopaxi can be very volatile. Our hike occurred amid high winds, rain, snow, and hail. You can still do it, but make sure you are prepared, with the correct waterproof materials! If you are able to coordinate your tour for a day with good weather, even better, but know that it can be rather unpredictable! Our team had a memorable adventure with the elements.

Spectacular scenery and breathtaking views, however the breathtaking is quite literal as you hike at altitude to Cotopaxi’s base camp at some 16,000 feet. Even going slowly, I couldn’t make it, maybe because I am 70 and not in the best shape. Be advised that this is a challenge even for the fit. I wish the description of “full day” included the fact that this was a hike.

The drive up and the hike was fantastic. I found that the rest stops in the morning were excessively long and had they been a bit shorter we would have had more time at the Volcano. The guide and driver had high energy and were a pleasure to engage with.

It was a wonderful experience, the guide Veronica always pending the driver Jhonatan very pending the way, indicated the recommendations with which I could carry everything necessary.
