We had a great trip to Cotopaxi even though we only got a glimpse of the volcano before the clouds rolled in. Our guide was informative and incredibly helpful to an elderly couple who were completely unprepared for a day at high altitude. At 4864m you need mountain clothing and footwear and be prepared for altitude effects. Delicious hot chocolate at the refuge made the climb worthwhile!

I want to compliment our tour guide but can't remember his name but the day of the tour was March 25th, 2026. He went above the beyond in helping me get up to the Base Camp with encouraging words and letting me hold onto his arm at times. The whole tour group was supportive and helpful and all so nice. I'm 70 yrs old and will remember their kindness for the rest of my life. Thank you!!

Great day that didn’t feel as long as 12 hours. We stopped for breakfast, got some Coca tea, visited the Cotopaxi museum, the lagoon, and then walked up to the Base Camp. The walk definitely makes you breathless so take it slowly, but you can do it. It’s only about a mile long and 750 ft up to the BC. Afterwards, you stop at a cute spot for lunch and then head back into Quito for your drop off. Pamela, our guide, had so much energy and taught us a lot about the area and history. We loved her!

Get prepared for the high altitude sickness! The hiking is 2 hours up and down! Most people can achieve! But get prepared

Irenita is a fantastic guide, she knows how to make people laugh and answer any questions. Cotopaxi was great day out with a branch of strangers who become funny people I won’t forget with a lots of great pictures and memories. I would definitely recommend the place and Irenita with the bus driver, which I felt safe, to go on the day trip. We were so lucky with the weather and view was breathtaking. On the way back we stopped on very tasty good price lunch.

Irene our guide was amazing! She was fun, funny, energetic, informative, caring, positive, etc. One of the best guides I’ve ever met. Her English is perfect. The day was great- 7:30 pickup, van ride to breakfast, got to volcano by 11, briefing and photo ops. we were really lucky with the weather, most of our group made it up 20-40min but was still proud of myself because you have to go slow with the altitude. Back down for delicious lunch and back to hotel by 5. Great day! Great group! Great guide! Highly recommend

It was a good experience with our tour guide Jorge. He was knowledgeable and very amicable as well. He supported you all of us along the way, which was especially helpful as someone coming from Florida where you're just not as accustomed to the altitude. Also, the pick up and drop off at the hotel was very convenient.
