The guide picked me up at my hotel right on time. He was very knowledgeable and described what we were seeing as we drove. We stopped for breakfast and for Coka tea. We got to hike on Cotopaxi and get amazing hot chocolate at the refuge. We had a good lunch and then drove back to Quito. It was a good size group, 9 people. I recommend it.

It was fantastic. It was much more than I was expecting. The guide was very knowledgeable, personable, funny, and helpful in lining up other tours. The driver kept a tidy bus. He cleaned it whenever we stopped. He also drove safely and efficiently. Would highly recommend these two.

This trip was amazing and lead by a very professional guide named Alejandro. I had a lot of questions about this trip ahead of time, so I’m going to try to answer them here for everybody. Trip started with us being picked up at our hotel and then we stopped at a gas station for breakfast ($4-$6 per person). There were also bathrooms here and a store that you could buy snacks at for your day. Second stop was at a stand where you could buy coca tea and hoja de coca to prevent the altitude sickness. Our guide was very attentive to everybody’s needs related to altitude sickness. We then stopped at the Cotopaxi information center where we learned more about the volcano. There is a store here where you can buy last minute supplies for the trek up. We then drove up to the parking lot, where the trek to the base camp refuge is. This trek is difficult, especially considering the altitude. If you are not well acclimatized, you will experience the effects of altitude sickness. That said, you are encouraged to go at your own pace and you are not required to do the entire trek if it is not feeling good for you. The bus driver stayed with the bus, so we were able to leave our bags on the bus with him to make the trek easier. We then went to the lagoon where there were lots of birds, this normally happens before the trek, but we switched it because the volcano had a clear view. After this adventure we stopped and had lunch ($6 per person). Overall, you can make this adventure match your body’s needs if you’re concerned about being able to complete the trek. Very worthwhile and professional!

We had the opportunity to make the tour to the Cotopaxi on December 23 with our wonderful guide Irene, she cared for all of us during our journey I have made our experience unforgettable. We loved all the data he gave us during the tour and his handling both English and Spanish to give the explanations. We recommend this tour and Irene as a guide.

Irene is another level, I went with my 11-year-old daughter and gave us encouragement to follow and recommendations, plus she stays behind with the last ones to make sure everyone goes well! I felt safe the whole time! If you do this family tour 100% be sure to order with her. Cotopaxi is cute, an experience definitely not to be missed when coming to Ecuador!

Irene is the best tour guide I’ve ever had. She is incredibly caring, knowledgeable, and professional. She delivered the tour flawlessly in both Spanish and English, and it was clear from the very beginning that she genuinely cared about her guests’ wellbeing and enjoyment. Irene went above and beyond at every step — constantly checking that everyone was okay, making sure we were having fun, and even taking photos of everyone throughout the tour so we could fully enjoy the experience. Her attention to detail and personal care truly stood out. When I needed help organising an additional car to reach accommodation that was outside the tour route, Irene made sure everything was arranged smoothly. Even when a previous tour company made a mistake and sent me to the wrong pickup location, Irene found a solution immediately, ensured I was collected, and made sure I was looked after without any stress. What impressed me most is that her care didn’t stop when the tour ended. Even when I later saw her in different locations around Ecuador , she always checked in to make sure I was happy, safe, and didn’t need anything. Her level of service genuinely goes beyond standard tour expectations. I couldn’t recommend this company enough — and that’s entirely thanks to Irene. I’ve already recommended them to numerous people, and I will continue to do so because of her exceptional service, kindness, and professionalism.

This is a beautiful mountain and not to be missed. The drive from Quito is reasonable. The short hike up to Refugio José Rivas is demanding due to the high altitude, but the trail is actually easy walking. Our tour guide Irene was fantastic - both highly informative and entertaining.

Irene is a world class tour guide. She is knowledgeable, friendly, and will take care of her 'chicos' as if they were her own children. Really listen to her advice about how to prevent altitude sickness and about payments inside the national park.
