Hierve el Agua
Hierve el Agua is a natural site located in the state of Oaxaca, Mexico. It is known for its picturesque landscapes featuring petrified waterfalls and mineral-rich springs. Despite its name, which translates to "Boiling Water," the water at Hierve el Agua is not actually boiling; instead, it is rich in minerals like calcium carbonate, creating the illusion of frozen waterfalls. Visitors can enjoy the stunning views, take a dip in the natural pools, and appreciate the unique geological formations of this remarkable site.

David our guide has many local stories and knowledge of the Oaxaca history and culture. We had a private tour for the day. The experience was as described. David was enjoyable, fun, and a good person. We enjoyed the two mezcal tours and a private lunch in the first agave field, very good food prepared by the local wife. Elmer our driver was a good guy too. We enjoyed our day with both of them.

AMAZING day filled with nature, mezcal, Oaxacan food and stories! David, our guide (who has curated this tour himself) is a real gem! Super interesting, engaging, and very knowledgeable. The tour was perfectly organised, with beautiful mezcal tasting and a traditional Oaxacan lunch set amidst a maguey field. We'll keep memories of this day forever, thanks again David for everything! Highly recommended!

The trip to hievre el aqua is totally worth the trip. I could do with the mezcal tasting and rug demonstration part of the tour. They were designed to sale stuff and not for our experience.

What an incredible adventure. It was just me and my husband on this tour and our guide, David, was incredible. He is so knowledgeable about Oaxaca and the process of making and growing mezcal. We were picked up by our hotel and taken to our first stop which was the most beautiful family-run mezcal business in the hills of Matatlan. We got to learn all about the intricate process of making mezcal and see the care and passion it takes to produce a beautiful bottle of mezcal. We ate a delicious Oaxacan lunch in the maguey fields and tasted several mezcals. David then took us to another family-run palenque and we experienced another wonderful family who have poured their lives and passions into creating mezcal. I can’t tell you how special this day was and how wonderful it was to meet such hard-working, dedicated families who created such a meaningful experience so we could taste and learn. I would recommend David and this amazing tour of mezcal to anyone. Don’t hesitate to book this tour if you are passionate about mezcal, Oaxaca, and seek to learn more from a dedicated and knowledgeable guide!

We did a day trip with David to 2 different mezcal distilleries. They were on time at the pick up site and we were off to out first destination. We enjoyed our private tour and lunch was amazing! I recommend eating something before the tour as you'll be tasting multiple mezcals before lunch. Highly recommend this tour!

Visiting the Small Mezcal Producer was a true highlight of the tour. Learning about the traditions and history of mezcal was eye-opening. It was clear that mezcal has always been a family business, passed down through generations. It gave me a new appreciation for the craft. I truly enjoyed this wonderful, tasteful and unique experience with my friends! I'll be back for sure!

The highlight of the tour was definitely the traditional lunch in the maguey fields. The food made by the local family was delicious, especially the Tlayudas and Memelas from the grill. It was such a special experience to enjoy a meal surrounded by the beautiful maguey fields.

The best mezcal tour I have ever done!! The attention they gave us was spectacular, the mezcal we tried was delicious and the food was also delicious 💕 I loved that they set up a place for you to sit down to eat and taste inside the field, so you can see the maguey and you are outdoors
