I was very pleasantly surprised by this display. The fossil history is extraordinary! You get to touch the thigh bone of a dinosaur, that's 80 million years old. The staff are extremely well briefed and provide excellent explanations of the theories around what we were seeing. Got to see the bone lab were volunteers were actually removing bones from the earth. Make sure you bring a big hat and lots of water. By the mid afternoon it was very hot and dry. Flies weren't too bad but personal repellant is probably a good idea

We joined the tour rather than drive ourselves and were super happy we did. Small group - 14- our driver/guideJo was fabulous. We got interesting info on the way out, Jo knew birds and flora. We saw bustards, brolgas and emus and saw wonderful vistas on the private station. The stampede itself was fascinating.

I would highly recommend this tour. Bec, our guide was awesome. Lots of local knowledge on anything from geology to agronomy to the dinosaurs. She’s very passionate about it all which makes the tour even more interesting. Morning tea - lunch and afternoon tea were all fantastic. They pick you up and drop you off at your accommodation which makes things even more convenient. Don’t go past Red Dirt Tours on your next visit to Winton. A trip we will always remember. Thanks Red Dirt Tours.

We had such a great day with red dirt tours and the Dino stampede tour. Bec was an amazing to a leader and had such deep knowledge of and passion for the flora and fauna and fossil records. It was a real pleasure to have the day with her. The catering was great. The vehicle was well equipped and comfortable and we felt welcomed and cared for all day.

Bec is a really good guide. I thoroughly enjoyed her running commentary over the few days I travelled with her (1/2 day to AAOD and 3/4 day to Dinosaur Stampede). She’s extremely knowledgeable about the area, the geology, the wildlife, the palaeontology. She worked at the AAOD for many years before tour guiding for Red Dirt Tours. Her heart is absolutely in this area.
