5.00A friend and I hired Ruben for a private tour of Sao Miguel. What an incredible experience. Ruben was an expert guide. He showed us off the beaten path sites, picked fresh berries and let us taste them, shared the history of the island, took cute photos of me and my friend and guided us on two incredible hikes. We had a wonderful and authentic meal in a very small town after one of the hikes. Our tour with Ruben was a highlight of a two week trip to Porto and the Azores. Do not miss a chance to take a tour with Ruben!

5.00Simply put, Ruben is the best. From the moment he picked us up, he was all about achieving a personal connection and giving us the best time possible. Unlike many of us who work at a job, Ruben truly loves what he does and finds a way to convey that experience to you. When you first meet, he sizes you up and plans a trip that he feels that you will enjoy based upon his conversations with you. If you are an active person or family, than he will scale up the difficulty and the amount that you will see. Throughout the entire day, he explains what you are seeing and more importantly, why you should be appreciating the history and the wonder of the nature that unfortunately, most of us do not have enough opportunities to see in our daily lives. The lunch was great. Leave it to him to order. If you have an open mind, and an adventurous culinary spirit, he will not steer you wrong. By the end of the day, Ruben becomes less of a guide, and more of a part of your family or a friend. Anabelle and I loved the day. Ruben, we wish you much success with the retreat that you are building!

5.00We spent an entire day with Ruben. It was the highlight of our two week stay in the Azores!! We hiked, kayaked, went in the hot springs and saw the magnificent beauty of the island! Ruben even surprised us with a special place to end our day. I definitely recommend his services!!

5.00I had such a great experience on the first day of the tour with Ruben (exploring the West and North/Central areas) that I immediately booked another one for another day, where we focused on the East. We saw so many stunning places, walked a lot, and even got to visit some less touristy spots. Ruben is super knowledgeable and friendly, and he made sure we tasted all the typical local food. Definitely recommend

5.00There’s no better person to show you this amazing island with all its secrets. You need someone from the island that knows all the trails and waterfalls, and the best part is he lived it Canada for awhile so he speaks English and French and Portuguese. He’s also very into athletics, so if running or hiking trails are your thing or cycling around the island he’s also your guy. And on top of all this he’s just a very upbeat and happy person very much into wellness and peace of mind. Definitely worth every penny.

5.00We booked a tour with Ruben and the experience with him was truly amazing. We had the day booked and being in São Miguel, the weather dictates where we went. As Ruben would say, “The weather is the Boss!” He took us on a hike on a cloudy day through Sete Cidades. The hike was more for the experience through the area than sightseeing. Trails we hiked were clear and clean minus some puddles. It was great and had an awesome time with Ruben. He explained his experiences and also showed us his home town after. We’ve kept contact with him thorough out our trip as he gave us many recommendations. I definitely recommend using Ruben if you want a cultural experience on São Miguel island. I bet it’s even better when the weather is great. Thanks again!

5.00I was blown away by how many things we saw and did in one day. I mean this tour is full of breathtaking views and waterfalls. Lunch was delisious and well deserved and Ruben is such good company.
