Chateau Yaldara
We’ll begin the day at the majestic Château Yaldara, one of the Barossa Valley’s most iconic and historic wineries. Established in 1947 by Hermann Thumm, a European winemaker who brought his old-world techniques to Australia, the château itself sits on the site of an original 19th-century flour mill, adding layers of charm and character to the estate. Famous for its award-winning Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon, Château Yaldara blends rich winemaking traditions with stunning architecture. The name "Yaldara" is derived from the Aboriginal word meaning “sparkling,” a nod to the nearby North Para River and the natural beauty of the area. Guests will experience the award winning wines and estate’s grand sandstone buildings, manicured gardens, and riverside views—making it one of the most photographed destinations in the Barossa. You’ll also have time to explore the grounds with a self-guided tour of the estate, perfect for soaking in its history and capturing memorable photos.

Our guide Annil was excellent . Full of knowledge and happy to accommodate our wishes . Choice of wineries and added destinations were great . The advertised gourmet lunch was a bit underwhelming . Was hoping for a nice steak , but that’s life . . Overall a lovely enjoyable day . Recommend it to any and all

Beautiful day in the Barossa. Loved the scenery and a good variety of different vineyards. Our host Ashley even accommodated us with a visit to Meglers Hill lookout! A stunning view which was more enjoyable with good company of other travellers.

Great meeting and socializing with the 2 other couples and 2 other single people on the tour bus. We enjoyed participating in the wine tasting and having lunch together as a group. We bought 4 bottles of wine and soaps. The tour/ bus driver Ashley was competent and she was informative and gave us lots of information on the Barossa Valley.

A good day. All the vineyards offered a good selection of wines, fortified wine and ports. The lunch venue is excellent. It all felt a little rushed and perhaps dropping the coffee stop before lunch would free up time for the morning’s visits

Hermit was lovely and professional and friendly. The tasting started early but the second stop Jam Factory was great and interesting. Lunch was good.
