Chateau Yaldara
We’ll begin the day at the majestic Château Yaldara, one of the Barossa Valley’s most iconic and historic wineries. Established in 1947 by Hermann Thumm, a European winemaker who brought his old-world techniques to Australia, the château itself sits on the site of an original 19th-century flour mill, adding layers of charm and character to the estate. Famous for its award-winning Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon, Château Yaldara blends rich winemaking traditions with stunning architecture. The name "Yaldara" is derived from the Aboriginal word meaning “sparkling,” a nod to the nearby North Para River and the natural beauty of the area. Guests will experience the award winning wines and estate’s grand sandstone buildings, manicured gardens, and riverside views—making it one of the most photographed destinations in the Barossa. You’ll also have time to explore the grounds with a self-guided tour of the estate, perfect for soaking in its history and capturing memorable photos.
While exploring the charming town of Tanunda, we recommend a special stop that locals rave about—Browns Barossa Donuts. This isn’t just any bakery stop; it’s a bite of pure indulgence, known for serving the best donuts in South Australia. Open only Wednesday to Saturday, Browns Barossa Donuts has earned a cult following for its handmade brioche donuts, crafted fresh each morning using locally sourced ingredients. From the moment you step inside, the sweet scent of caramel, chocolate, and fresh dough pulls you in. Flavours like Biscoff cheesecake, Nutella dream, and dulce de leche éclairs make this more than just a snack—it’s an experience. Perfectly timed into our itinerary, this stop gives you a taste of Tanunda’s delicious side and adds a bit of fun (and sugar!) to your day of wine, culture, and discovery. Don’t be surprised if you leave with a box of treats for the ride home—these donuts are too good to resist. (Purchases at your own cost)

Excellent, I went with my boyfriend who’s local to Adelaide and had a wonderful time tasting local wines, learning about the wineries stories, and Amanda’s (our guide) fun facts about the areas we were visiting. We also had fun convos with the other visitors, so it was a great way to get to know more people — might be great for people visiting solo too!

Jerry was a knowledgeable and informative driver; group on our tour was incredibly friendly and from US and Australia. The four vineyards chosen were excellent and very generous, lunch was great, chocolate stop and Maggie Beer farm stops were a bonus. I've been on tastings around the world and in the US, this was by far the best for variety, quality, and interesting vineyards. Highly recommend it!

We had a fantastic time on the tour. The communication regarding the pick up at the port was excellent. The 4 wine tastings were genorous pours and interesting. We also had stops at Tununda, a chocolate/ice cream shop and farm shop. The lunch was great too at the Monkey Nut Cafe ( very tasty pie and chips). We had a small group (10) and all got on well and had lots of fun. We got back to the ship just after 5pm. Would thoroughly recommend the company and trip ( which was good value)

We went around a lot of wineries and they were all great. Lunch was delicious, too. The guides were always very flexible in communicating with the participants.
