Chateau Yaldara
We’ll begin the day at the majestic Château Yaldara, one of the Barossa Valley’s most iconic and historic wineries. Established in 1947 by Hermann Thumm, a European winemaker who brought his old-world techniques to Australia, the château itself sits on the site of an original 19th-century flour mill, adding layers of charm and character to the estate. Famous for its award-winning Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon, Château Yaldara blends rich winemaking traditions with stunning architecture. The name "Yaldara" is derived from the Aboriginal word meaning “sparkling,” a nod to the nearby North Para River and the natural beauty of the area. Guests will experience the award winning wines and estate’s grand sandstone buildings, manicured gardens, and riverside views—making it one of the most photographed destinations in the Barossa. You’ll also have time to explore the grounds with a self-guided tour of the estate, perfect for soaking in its history and capturing memorable photos.

Great tour, hosted by Harry. Unhurried pace, great variety of venues and well organised. Had a great time and thoroughly enjoyed the group we spent the day with.

Harry, our driver, was very relaxed and fun. The tastings were varied from small to larger vineyards with red, whites, Shiraz and ports. Lunch at Kies was delicious. Donuts, chocolate, ice cream - it was a treat from start to finish. Even had time to walk through a quick vineyard maze. Entertaining, enlightening and insightful.

Absolutely recommend this tour. We had a great safe driver, and host Amanda who was wonderful on providing great information on the area and also bubbly personality. We had four full tastings at Barossa Wineries along with a few other tourist stops, a full day and picked up and returned to our cruise ship in plenty of time. Highly recommend this tour thanks.
