What To Expect
Chateau Yaldara
We’ll begin the day at the majestic Château Yaldara, one of the Barossa Valley’s most iconic and historic wineries. Established in 1947 by Hermann Thumm, a European winemaker who brought his old-world techniques to Australia, the château itself sits on the site of an original 19th-century flour mill, adding layers of charm and character to the estate. Famous for its award-winning Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon, Château Yaldara blends rich winemaking traditions with stunning architecture. The name "Yaldara" is derived from the Aboriginal word meaning “sparkling,” a nod to the nearby North Para River and the natural beauty of the area. Guests will experience the award winning wines and estate’s grand sandstone buildings, manicured gardens, and riverside views—making it one of the most photographed destinations in the Barossa. You’ll also have time to explore the grounds with a self-guided tour of the estate, perfect for soaking in its history and capturing memorable photos.

5.00Great overall Barossa winery tour. Everything was spot on from hotel pick up to drop off. Even though the tour included 3 people, it went smoothly with no issues. Special mention for our tour guide - Holly. Very informative and a friendly person to boot. Will do it again. Well done

5.00It was a fun experience where we visited 4 vineyards and a chocolate factory, which also served delicious ice cream. We had a good lunch; I ordered a pie and my partner ordered a very tasty fish.

5.00Harry was a great driver/tour operator. The 4 winery stops with a tasting were great. Enjoyed the other stops without tasting, could have past the stop at the chocolate stop - possibly would be better if the tour included a tasting here.
