Emerald Pool (Sa Morakot)

During a short hike through the forest, you have the opportunity to explore an intact ecosystem. Sure you will be impressed by the unique ambience of the rainforest. The Emerald Pool or also called ‘Sa Morakot’ is a unique natural pond with a visually limpid blue color and wonderfully warm waters, making it a stunning spot for swimming in. An abundance of minerals from the surrounding limestone hills gives the pool its jade tone. Nearby the Emerald Pool you'll find the Blue Lagoon, a beautiful pool with deep aquamarine-blue water. But don’t be tempted to take a dip in the lovely looking blue water, because unlike in the Emerald Pool you can’t swim here at all! The bottom consists of quicksand and the water temperature varies between 30 and 50 degrees Celcius. After visit to the Emerald Pool and Blue Lagoon we will stop for lunch at a local restaurant (approx. 1 hour - lunch is for own expenses). National Park fee THB 400 per person is not included and has to be paid cash.

Namtok Ron (Hot Spring Waterfall ) - Khlong Thom

Namtok Ron is located in a shady green forest area with numerous hot springs. The hot springs and cool streams converge on a slope to form lovely cascades of warm water. The water comes from volcanic chambers deep underground. Therefore the water always has a beneficial temperature of 35 to 42 degrees Celsius! You can relax in one of the many natural hollows in the creek and watch the water gently cascade into the cool pools. Hot Springs fee THB 200 per person is not included and has to be paid cash.

  • Great way of exploring Krabi

A great way of seeing nature in Krabi! We expected a group tour but ended up being just us, the guide Otto and driver Leo which was great. Otto and Leo were amazing and knew how to get everywhere when it wasn’t busy so we avoided the crowds. The emerald pool and area are beautiful (we were the first people there!) and the hot springs really relaxing to sit in for half an hour. Beware of the tiger cave temple though - there was an extremely aggressive pack of monkeys at the top guarding the stairs. They ripped the backpack off my back and stole my camera (luckily I got it back after they got bored with it) even though I had no food or water. I’d recommend either not taking any belongings up there at all, or stop at the temple at around 1000 steps and enjoy the view from there, as the monkeys were really scary and it was a dangerous environment at the top. They were attacking anyone passing the stairs and even when you tried to get your shoes back after visiting the temple. I did a google search after and apparently bites are common - I wouldn’t have gone to the top if I’d known. Otherwise a wonderful trip and Otto and Leo did a 10/10 job, just think carefully about the temple! Thank you to WanderSiam.

  • A trip to experience nature and religion

We were picked up by a guide and driver and met others on the same tour. After a while we arrived at the Emerald Pool. Note you’re unable to bring food inside, your bag will be searched. There are quite a lot of expenses extra to pay on this tour which is strange. You’re only really paying for the transport and guide, though the guide was a nice guy and spoke to everyone, it would have been perfectly possible to do this trip without a guide. The hike up to the blue pool (without the guide) wasn’t really worth it in my opinion. I’d opt to spend more time in the Emerald Pool. After a while and at 11.30am you walk back to a restaurant for a buffet lunch, a bit early to be honest but perfectly cheap and affordable. After that you head to the Hot Springs which are really wonderful, though more walking. It’s disappointing the company doesn’t arrange the use of the electric buggies which other visitors were using. The hot springs were great and the guide was snapping away photographs. Finally, we head to the Tiger Cave temple where some of the group will opt for the 1267 steps uphill and they are steep, others can take a shorter and alternative route which doesn’t go to the top. Others sat and waited with the guide and it does take time. To be fair we were back by 4:45pm and we did enjoy the day. Just be prepared to bring cash to pay for your admissions as well as your bathing suit and towel are an absolute must.

It was a very intense day, with different activities, you get to see really beautiful places! The “walk” to the temple and the buddha are not to be underestimated! You need to be in good shape and good conditions, especially if you add the climate conditions! It was an intense, beautiful day

Be prepared to walk, and bring at least 2000tb for one person one child more if bigger family cash as there is no eft and you have to pay cash for the entries and lunch. Our guide Otto was so good and funny :) the tiger temple is an extremely hard climb with aggressive monkeys trying to take your things. The pools and springs are worth the trip and Otto’s character ❤️

  • A great way to spend a day in Krabbi x

A lovely way to spend a day out in Krabbi. Lots of time at the hot springs but make sure you give yourself enough time to get to the top of the Tiger Temple stairs and do not try it without water. Views are stunning and a good reward for making the effort to get up there, but it is a hard climb. 1260 stairs doesn't sound like much but in the thai heat and some stairs more akin to ladders it is a real challenge.
