Discover Scuba (DSD) is your introduction experience to the wonders of scuba diving and where better to do that than on the second largest barrier reef in the world, The Mesoamerica Barrier Reef, inside the Puerto Morelos Marine Reserve.
Discover Scuba is an introductory experience to what Scuba Diving is, how it is performed and the gear you will need to become familiar with if you would like to add scuba diving to your future adventure/vacation itinerary.
Discover Scuba is not a certification course, it is an introduction to Scuba. In the case you would like to become a certified scuba diver, this is where that adventure begins.

Diving within 18 hours of flying is not recommended. All participants will be required to complete a health questionnaire prior to diving. Some pre-existing medical conditions (eg asthma, heart conditions, etc) may prevent you from diving, please consult your doctor
What To Expect
Also called DSD, or Resort Diving, this activity is an application of recreational diving in which an uncertified diver uses a scuba set to breathe underwater under the direct supervision of a qualified instructor. You start with some basic skill in shallow water off the beach before diving on shallow reef side by side and under the watchful eye of our instructors. This is an experience program only; no certifications are issued. Please do not apply any types of creams or lotions before your excursion. Many products say “turtle or Reef Friendly”, we have found most of them are not. We will offer you the use of our wetsuits free of charge to protect your skin from the sun!

5.00This was an excellent time! We did 2 dives with lunch in between. The club sandwich was delicious! It was just my wife and I and everything went so well! Our instructor was very patient and he was so good at explaining everything and making sure we understood and were comfortable. We was an excellent guide, showing us everything he could spot. We got to see an underwater cenote, sea turtles, sting ray, lobsters, squid! All sorts of stuff. It was definitely an amazing adventure.

5.00My husband and I did this together. Our guide was Dan. He was very informative and so patient. There were a total of 3 in our group which was great. The undersea world is incredible. Definitely recommend the 2nd dive so you can see more of the beautiful reef. We really enjoyed this experience and will return!

5.00Incredibly knowledgeable and friendly staff. Safety is number one here. From shore to sea top shelf service,wether you have had 1000 dives or its your first open water dive. Underwater guides/ divemaster will spot creatures you may miss bring your camera!!

5.00This was our 2nd time with Wet Set Adventures. Last year we were able to snorkel in the National Reef Park, and this time we completed the Discover Scuba with another family we were traveling with. First off, Felicity (office manager) is always on top of answering all your questions before you even get there! (and believe me, we had a ton!!) Then, Our dive master Mau and the other staff that were helping were all so patient, knowledgeable and friendly. We had 4 adults and 4 children participating (ages 12 and 14). One of the 12 year olds had some issues getting his ears to pressurize and wasn't able to descend on the 2nd dive the entire way so one of the instructors stayed with him the whole time ensuring that his experience was still enjoyable and safe, even if he couldn't be right next to the group. Two of the teenagers came back to do a tank dive at two different locations a few days later and loved every minute of it. All the skills were reviewed and both of them took to the water like old pros, thanks to all the help and instructions given. We will be returning next year to get them both Scuba certified (and hopefully a few of us adults too)

5.00We had a great time at WetSet, my girlfriend did the discovery and Mauricio our dive master was great with her, very patient and professional, she was anxious at the very beginning but he managed to make her relax and enjoy the dive, the second dive site was spectacular, calmed blue waters in a really healthy reef, lots of fish, the boat crew was also friendly and helpful all the time, Felícity was a great host, even the club sandwich was good! I would recommend them 100%,

5.00What a great experience for our family! Dave, Guillermo, and Felicity took incredible care of us as we completed our PADI Open Water certification. Greatly appreciated the attention to ensuring we were comfortable with the new equipment and skills, helping even the most nervous of our family overcome their fears. Excellent location in Puerto Morales with incredible reef and so many amazing fish! 4 great dives, thank you — We will be back!

5.00My sister and I had an amazing experience completing our open water certification. Our instructor was Mauricio (Mau) and he was extremely knowledgeable, patient and just an overall great guide. He took us to beautiful dive sites in the area for our open water dives with “Acuario” being our favorite. We completed our certification in just 2 days and felt very comfortable diving by the end of the course. My younger brother (14y/o) wanted to try scuba for the first time so we did the discover scuba along with him. I believe his instructor’s name was Laura and she was fantastic as well. All of the staff at WetSet are friendly and accommodating. We will definitely be back when we’re in the area 10/10 recommend :)

5.00Myself and 2 friends, kind of on a whim called the Wet Set scuba company one day around 11;30am and asked if we could book something the following day. The manager informed us that due to a forecast of 6 foot waves the next day, that likely would not be possible. We then inquired if we could book something on the same day we called (about as last minute as one can get, lol). She was very kind and said for us to come on over (we were about a 5 minute walk away from our Airbnb) and see what she could do. We ended up booking a discovery scuba experience (none of us were certified or had been scuba diving before) right then and there and went out to to the water about 45 minutes later after filling out forms and some instruction. Our guide, Guillermo, was incredibly kind, a fantastic instructor, clearly very experienced in diving and guiding. We did about an hour dive, and got to see some of the reef in the shallower waters (about 30 feet dive). This was the HIGHLIGHT of our trip, hands down. Made me want to get certified! I highly recommend this company - 5 stars all around!
