We had a great time. Our guide Yukiko was amazing, knowledgeable, polite, helpful and carrying. It was a pleasure to spend the day with her and to see Kagoshima. It was exiting to be very close to an active volcano and to have a chance to paint with it’s ashes. I recommend the tour with Yukiko to all my friends and family.

Aya has shown us all aspects of part of the volcano island. The creative part, painting with colored lava sand, is enjoyment. Thank you Aya.

So, we were a little late but Yuki was very understanding and gave us updates on how to find her. The Sakurajima visitors center was very informative with little models of the 2 different volcanos. I enjoyed walking around the magma created Kirishima-Kinkowan national park after the foot bath. One of the most unique and special experiences of my entire trip was creating a picture out of volcanic ash, then getting served matcha and sweet pickled daikon radish. The shop owner was so friendly. I got a surprisingly good bowl of ramen on the ferry ride back to the mainland. Yuki was very friendly and enthusiastic, I love her energy!

Aya did a wonderful job showing us the beautiful island of Sakurajima off of the Kagoshima coast. We took a quick ferry ride to the island and viewed a shrine, took a foot bath in a thermal bath, visited a pottery factory where we painted with ash and then went to the highest accessible point at the observatory. Saw amazing views of an active volcano. Great half day trip!!

It was a very nice mix. We learned a lot about the volcano. The foot bath and the design of a picture with lava ash were absolute highlights. We can only recommend this trip. Our guide was very helpful and had a lot of valuable information. Small group size.

Tour was good. Would have been better had it not rained. But, not the tour guides fault though. She tried very hard to make the tour interesting by engaging with everyone on the tour. She took pictures of everyone while doing the ash painting pictures. Which at first we thought would be silly. However, it turned out to be fun, and we came home with our own souvenir.

Know which port you’re coming into. Getting to the ferry is easy, but may take some time. We had fun making a souvenir to bring home, views were wonderful!

It was a fantastic day and a great way to see the sights around the island, see the volcano and do volcano ash paintings.

We have a great time even it was raining. Our most memorable part was painting our master piece. That was really fun. Our guide, Naomi, is very thorough. We learned so much from her. I recommend this tour for the beautiful place and history. It’s very interesting.
