The igniTours/Get Your Guide “San Francisco: Downtown Architecture & Public Art Tour” with Jamie Lasher was excellent! Jamie really enhanced our appreciation and knowledge of beautiful architecture and public spaces in the Financial District. He is so knowledgeable and enthusiastic, and clearly loves this city and it’s architecture and history. Jamie was so interesting and truly nice. Since it was just my husband and me, he focused on our interests and answered my many questions. I am home, now, and reading more about many of the interesting buildings he told us about. He sent us a document with the places we visited, so I didn’t feel the need to write everything down, and could just enjoy the tour! We will seek out other tours with Jamie next time we are in San Francisco. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

This is a great tour! Jamie has a deep knowledge of the history and significance of San Francisco's iconic buildings and public art works downtown (Financial District and SoMa), and his clear passion for the subject makes the tour fun and engaging, as he shares many historical photos and building plans along the tour. Very enjoyable and I highly recommend it to anyone looking to learn more about this ever-evolving city. Thanks, Jamie!

This tour doesn't involve too long a distance walking, but you can see so much during these couple hours. Jamie is a great guide and knowledgeable and willing to answer questions as you go. We had ages 12+ in our family group and all found something to enjoy. We've done similar tours in the past but learned new things this time and loved seeing how the architecture of downtown tells a story of its history. It sounds like it might be boring, but it's not at all and you learn as you go. As former locals and now visiting tourists, this is one of our favorite things to do in the city and well worth a few hours time!

We took this tour as Sacramento residents who knew some about the major attractions in SF, but, as it turns out, very little about SF's architecture, or about the public art and public spaces SF has to offer. Jamie was a great guide who really brought the city to life for us and has that most essential ingredient to keep someone's interest -- genuine enthusiasm for his subject matter. We may never eat lunch inside a restaurant in SF again! Not when there are, it turns out, so many wonderful public spaces that were created as part of the "deal" for buildings that were built in the last several decades. Outdoor spaces, indoor spaces, with seating and landscaping and wonderful artwork, all available for free those who know where to find it. And we know so much more now about the buildings we see when we visit SF, as well as some idea of what to expect in terms of future development. Finally, Jamie is great guy -- friendly, engaging, and funny -- and we really enjoyed just chatting with him. I plan to take my brother and his wife on this tour, and highly recommend it both to first-time visitors (I'd do it the first day so you know where to go) and locals.

This was an excellent overview of San Francisco architecture. Besides being friendly and courteous, Jamie, the guide was super knowledgeable and passionate about the subject matter. I know absolutely nothing about architecture and Jamie did an excellent job of outlining the differences among Art Deco, Neoclassical, Modern, Post-Modern, etc. styles. I've lived in San Francisco for more than 30 years and had never been to many of the little nooks, parks and public spaces we got to see. I also realized how infrequently I look up! Will definitely be doing more of that going forward. Overall, an excellent tour. Highly recommend.

Our guide, Jamie was terrific! The broad base and depth of his knowledge of many, many building in downtown San Francisco is unparalleled. Jamie explained the building's style, when it was constructed, who owns it now, it's current purpose, who was the architect as well as other buildings the architect designed. He is also very friendly, personal and enthusiastic about sharing his extensive knowledge with others. All of this without any notes. If you are interested in an Architecture Tour of SF look no further. This is the best.

My wife and I joined the Real San Francisco architecture tour in December 2025, led by our guide, Jamie. It was an outstanding experience from start to finish. The 2.5-hour tour began at the Mechanics Monument and concluded near the SFMOMA (San Francisco Museum of Modern Art). Jamie was a fantastic guide with a deep knowledge of the area's history, iconic buildings, and public art installations. We were particularly impressed by the Salesforce Park (the "park in the sky"), which is a stunning example of modern urban design. Throughout the walk, Jamie shared fascinating details about the local businesses and the evolution of public spaces. A great touch was when Jamie showed us visual references of other works by the same architects and shared glimpses of upcoming projects currently in the planning stages. I’ve attached some photos from our walk, including the historic Shell Building, the impressive Salesforce Tower, and some of the vibrant public sculptures we encountered. I highly recommend this tour to anyone interested in the intersection of architecture and history!

We’re Bay Area locals, but we still learned so much from Jaime. He brought downtown San Francisco’s history and architecture to life—from iconic buildings to hidden alleys, public art, and the city’s public spaces. The tour in the East Cut area was fascinating, showing its evolution into high-rises, tech offices like LinkedIn and Meta, and the expansive and beautiful Salesforce Park. This wasn’t just an architecture tour—it was a walk through SF’s history since 1906. Jaime’s knowledge and enthusiasm make it a must-do!
