This is an educational tour where we dive into the human history of New Zealand. Discussing how Polynesians (Māori) navigated to New Zealand with pin-point accuracy from Islands thousands of kilometers away.
We explore all the key sights of Dunedin on a modern, comfortable mini bus on this small group tour. Starting at the Octagon, we pass several iconic buildings as we leave Central Dunedin including St Paul’s Cathedral, Otago Boys High School, First Church and the Dunedin Railway Station before arriving high up on the Otago Peninsula for scenic viewpoints.
We venture to St Kilda and St Clair surf beaches where we break for a light lunch. Then it's past the botanic gardens to visit Baldwin Street, the World’s steepest street. Our final stop is the University of Otago, New Zealand’s oldest university, where we take a guided walk around a collection of beautiful old iconic buildings.

Great insight tour of Dunedin , Jono gives you lots of information re the history of Dunedin and was very informative. It was a showery day but we did manage to dodge some of the rain. The tour provides a light lunch too which was great, Jono really gives you that personal touch. I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone coming to Dunedin 😀thank you for a great morning.

Thank you to Johnathan for a really insightful and enjoyable whistle stop of Dunedin. We go to see and learn so much in a short tour which never felt rushed. The light lunch was perfect looking over the beach watching surfers and spotting wildlife. Honestly, great afternoon. If you're in Dunedin, not to be missed!

I highly recommend this tour! My guide was so knowledgeable and very enthusiastic about showing his historic city and beautiful country. The tour was very comprehensive, driving around Dunedin and into the suburbs and countryside. An amazing snack style lunch with fresh fruit and NZ cheeses was served! This is the tour to take! We went on an In-Depth Blue Penguins tour with Jono the night before. Love it! We later found out Jono also run this Dunedin city sights tour. He is very knowledgeable and we learnt a heap about Dunedin's wildlife and its history, both Māori and European. And the provided lunch was a fantastic touch. Vehicle was spacious and clean inside and out. Fully recommend.
