Really great tour! Mario might be the best tour guide that I've had. Funny and has a lot of knowledge!

This was an amazing tour! Cristina is very kind and knowledgeable. We first hiked to a waterfall where we went swimming which was great. During the hike, Cristina explained about the ecology. Then we visited a coffee finca where the process behind harvesting etc was explained and where we could try a fresh cup of coffee. Then we had a delicious lunch and walked past a beautiful viewpoint where we got more information about (ecological theory of) the mountains of Sierra Nevada. We ended the day with a cacao workshop where we tasted the original fruit and made a piece of our own chocolate with cacao and cane sugar. All in all it was a great day and experience, would definitively recommend!

Cristina was an excellent guide, gave us lots of information about the area and the coffee and chocolate making process. Transport was easy and organised for us, lunch was nice too, even a vegetarian option

This trip was AWESOME! The hiking was hard (I’m almost 50 and in decent shape) but manageable, and the experiences were lovely, interesting, and delicious. Christina the guide is knowledgeable, informative, and kind. My husband and teen daughters loved it too. Highly recommend!

We went as a family of three (two adults and a 12-year old boy) and this was a perfect activity to mix with the beach and water tourist areas of Santa Marta. Christina was our guide and she was very knowledgable and patient with the group. It was obvious that she enjoys her work and has a background and education in environmental science. She is bilingual and very friendly. She even helped us to arrange local private transportation outside the tour. The tour involves hiking hills and trails so believe them when they say do not wear flip flops. The lunch was fantastic and included a presentation on the biodiversity of Colombia by Tony Martin, an educator and environmental evangelist. He is a compelling public speaker with a strong message on protecting the environment so that we can learn from it as a species. The coffee plantation was fun, educational and included the option of dipping in river and water cascading over large rocks. We did this instead of the regular waterfall hike because that section had been closed recently due to heavy rains. The chocolate processing presentation was informative and tasty. Plan for nearly a full day depending on where you are staying. The value for the price was exceptional and we thoroughly enjoyed it.

We had an amazing day! They sent a cab to pick us up, right at our hotel (Didier was great) and drove us to Minca to meet the tour group. It was a mix of Spanish and English speakers (just us 😉) in the group but Christina was amazing at communicating all of the information to all of us. Learning about the coffee and Cacao production was really fun and educational. Be sure to wear good walking shoes as you do quite a bit of walking, with elevation, but it’s very doable for an “average”, in shape person. Didier then gave us a ride directly back to our hotel afterwards. We had an amazing day and Christina was an awesome guide. I’d highly recommend the experience if you want to get a true taste of what Minca is like! Thank you!

We were met by our guide Federico upon arriving in Minca . I had problem with my ankle and he recommended us to go to the Falls, that it would have been too hard . Instead, , as we would miss the coffee plantation he brought us to a place with a breathtaking view to have a coffee and explain the process to grow and obtain the coffee beans. Then we went on a more manageable hike to a river where we could “swim” . Cold but refreshing and not crowded at all! After lunch , we went to the tour store to see how to make a chocolate bar and have a hot chocolate. Federico was very kind and knew a lot about the surrounding birds, plants and the tribes living in the Sierra . Overall a great experience . I highly recommend Federico

Great full day. The trail was awesome and since we had a private guide we were able to customized to us. The coffee and lunch locations have a wonderful view. Guide was very friendly and entertaining with great knowledge of the area.
