The Edge of the World (its real name is Jabal al-Firin), one of the most popular tourist destinations in Saudi Arabia, gets its nickname from the continuous view of the horizon it offers over its 300-meter-high cliffs, which overlook the surrounding plain. It is part of the much longer Tuwaiq escarpment, descending about 305 meters to the bottom of the ancient ocean. From the top of the cliffs, you'll spot dry rivers that weave across the land and you may see camels moving away below - an ancient caravan route that once ran through these lands. We can enjoy the sunset from the top of the mountain and take unforgettable memorial photos

Edge of The World
Drive to Jebel Fihrayn popularly known as “the Edge of the World” is 120 Km from Riyadh. The Edge of the World is the third stop on our tour of the Natural Wonders of Arabia, following earlier stops at Elephant Rock and Jabal Abyad. Standing atop the 1,000-foot high escarpment at Jabal Fihrayn, you find stretching before you an uninterrupted view of the horizon in all directions, leaving you with the impression that you are, indeed, standing at the very edge of the world. The effect on one’s body and mind and soul is exhilarating.

This place is about 1.5 hrs ride from Riyadh, of which about .5 hr is on rough terrain & bumpy. We had an excellent driver cum guide Salman so it didn't feel hard. I thought the land forms along the route gave an idea of what to expect but what we saw took our breath away. Salman was good in showing us all the right spots and also taking great video of us.

Othman was great. He took so many photos and helped me because of my bad knee. The dinner was unexpected and delicious. Plus I appreciated the ride to a meteo station which really helped me. The highlight of my Riyadh trip.

The trip organized by Archè Travel in Turin fully corresponded to what was promised and our expectations. Good all hotel accommodations, organized land trips by Bus, off-road and fast train as needed. Accompanying from Italy Alberto De Min excellent, always attentive to the needs of everyone, local guides up to their task, meals inevitably a little 'monocord but always good and in a couple of cases excellent and different from usual. The places visited give very well the idea of a country in continuous and constant modernization as regards both the infrastructure in general (airports and railway stations are functionally and architecturally at the top) and other aspects of common life where even the position of women in society is evolving compared to the past. The trip allows you to admire varied desert nature, beautiful oases and peculiar rock formations, absolutely enchanting. An experience even for sailed travelers.

Absolutely phenomenal… I can’t thank my guide Khaled enough for my private tour to the Edge of the World. With his photography skills, knowledge, humor, and graciousness, we had an amazing time and I’ll cherish my time with him. I felt like friends at the end of my tour, and I can’t thank him enough for welcoming me to Saudi Arabia!

The experience was amazing seeing the stunning rock ledges. The driver Abdullah was wonderful and accommodating. Dinner was mostly rice but dinner was not a key reason for tour. I recommend the experience.

The whole trip exceeded all my expectations. It was well structured, organized, and full with programs I haven't expected. The guys made everything to show us this area, all the interesting thing which are available there and show us also the Saudi lifestyle. We left in time from the meeting point. The car was comfortable and clean. Visited a 500 year old village, the bat cave - I recommend to light the stones inside the cave to see the beautiful chrystals. And the edge of the world... I can't express with words how beautiful is was - especially during sunset. We finished the day with an Arabic dinner in tents, the staff also lit fires because of the cold. Stargazing, dancing, and go back - like in a rally race 😀 We had the best driver!!!
