What To Expect
Join me for a hands-on Sri Lankan cooking class in the scenic hills of Ella! We’ll start by getting familiar with fresh local ingredients and spices unique to Sri Lankan cuisine. As we cook together, I’ll show you how to make authentic dishes like coconut sambal, aromatic curries, and more, explaining each technique and its cultural significance. After cooking, we’ll enjoy our meal in the open air, surrounded by the lush nature of Ella—a perfect way to experience the flavors and traditions of Sri Lanka firsthand!

5.00Yesterday we had a cooking class with Irosha and her lovely mother. They taught us how to cook a bunch of different curry’s and side dishes. The place has an amazing view so that made the cooking experience even better! If you are looking for a great Sri Lankan cooking experience we would recommend coming here! Thank you so much and when we get to Sri Lanka again, we will be back!

The cooking class takes place in the beautiful family home on the mountainside in an undercover outdoor kitchen, using traditional cooking methods and fresh local food. The mother and daughter team are warm and welcoming hosts, providing plenty of information and advice to make the meals and recipes to do at home. I loved this experience and very special sharing the meal with everyone at the end 😊

5.00We absolutely loved this experience. The setting was lovely, everything clean and tidy although cooking outside. Instructions very clear and everyone had a chance to try things. Mother and daughter an excellent team and we've already made the recipes we were sent back at home. Would highly recommend

5.00A must on Ella for us. Wood burning kitchen, outdoors, with incredible views and some ingredients that come directly from the garden. It was a feast! An authentic, informative and kind experience at Mom’s Kitchen, easy to do at home after the holidays. Warning, this course is at the beginning of the trail to Little Adam's Peak. 5.00We spent a great 2 hours learning how to cook authentic Sri Lankan food with Irosha and her Mum Kamala. We did 5 different dishes including a chicken curry, a potato curry, a spiced cabbage dish, a dhal, coconut sambol and rice. All cooked from scratch using traditional methods and using fresh ingredients. It was relaxed and great fun and the results tasted fantastic. We also get copies of the recipes to try at home. A really great fun learning experience. Thank you.
