Let us take you to some of the best vineyards in the area - Chinon, Saumur, Bourgueil - and discover the amazing wines - whites, rosés, reds, and sparkling. Walk the vineyards, tour the caves, and taste wines (10+ wines) with the winemakers. Full-day tours include 3 wineries and a homemade picnic lunch served at a vineyard. The lunch or snacks can be added to a half-day tour (for an additional fee) to make a truly French experience. You'll have the opportunity to buy wines at each vineyard and we can arrange shipping services for the wine to be delivered to your home!

NOTE: Pickup originating from a 10km radius of Chinon. If it's a one-person, private tour, there is a 60 euro surcharge. For pickup locations in Saumur, an additional fee will be added.

What To Expect

Chinon

Pickup at your hotel, holiday home/Gite or train station On a half-day tour, we typically visit 2 vineyards, walking through the vines, visiting the cellars and caves, and tasting wine (10+wines)! A picnic lunch or snack can be included for an additional fee. On a full-day tour, we visit 3 vineyards and a 3-course picnic lunch (with wine and bread!) is included. You'll visit the vines, caves, and cellars and taste 15+ wines. You'll learn about the region, terroir, grape varietals and wine making process that makes Loire Valley wines so amazing. You'll have the opportunity to purchase wine at each vineyard and we can arrange shipping services.

Keith clearly has a wealth of knowledge and experience in all things wine, which he enthusiastically shared with us in this professional yet very laid-back and fun tour. Together we tasted a generous number of local wines, produced by true artisans with whom Keith had an excellent relationship. I’d strongly recommend this experience to anyone looking for an authentic and friendly deep-dive into the world of Loire wine.

Keith and Linda were fantastic! We had a wonderful day visiting two wineries, tasting a lot of wonderful wines, and enjoying Linda's homemade lunch. This was a highlight of our trip on our first visit to the Loire Valley. This was also our first experience with Chinon wines. Keith and Linda are very knowledgeable and friendly and even helped us to coordinate shipping wine home. Highly recommend this tour, and we hope we can return again some day!

After researching several options, we selected Loire Winery Tours and were extremely happy with our decision. Keith and Linda could not have been better guides, and the day was both fun and relaxing, and we left feeling that we had gained some friends in Chinon. Definitely, don't miss the opportunity to visit Loire wineries with a fun and knowledgeable couple, who know how to make the day personal and memorable. Keith and Linda have good relationships with the winery owners/management, and they selected great wineries for us to visit. The wineries we visited were small (which we prefer) and the tastings were all very good and included a variety of wines and vintages. We had time to visit with the winery owners/staff and ask questions. The wines were so good that we consumed our purchases well before we returned home, but we know that Keith and Linda can help us if we choose to have more shipped. One of the highlights of the day, was the wonderful luncheon prepared for us where everything was locally sourced, and it was an experience we will long remember. Linda and Keith were so accommodating to work with. Even before our arrival, they gave us suggestions for how to get to Chinon from our hotel and recommendations for dining (including local Brioche). They were flexible in picking us up at a convenient time and location near Chinon Fortress and dropped us at the train station after our winery visits. Our only regret is that we weren't able to take advantage of their rental cottage, which looks wonderful. Oh, well, saving that for our next trip.

Everything was so wonderful from the cute wineries to the very tasty wine. We gained a lot of knowledge about wine making in France and had the most delicious lunch that Keith and Linda prepared. Perfect hosts.

Our guides, Keith and Linda were amazing! They had extensive knowledge of both the area and wines in general and provided us with additional recommendations for food and hotels beyond the tour itself. Their communication was excellent. We went to two different wineries representing the Saumur and Chinon regions where we were able to do private tastings with the staff. The tasting hosts spoke English and gave us an excellent overview of both the chateau's wines as well as the regional winemaking philosophy and methods. We would highly recommend this tour for anyone who wants to get a sense of the region in a short time.

We had a great half day tour of the Chinnon area. Keith and Linda were easy to arrange the tour with, then picked us up from our hotel and took us to two wineries. Good company and knowledgable about wine. I would recommend.

Keith & Linda picked us up in Fontevraud, took us to two family run vineyards for tastings, and served us a fantastic lunch in an ancient dovecote on the grounds of one of the wineries. They are extremely personable and we felt like we made had new friends after our experience. The wines were excellent and I was surprised at how different they were from each other, given they were all made from just two varieties of grapes. Keith kept up a low key commentary as we tasted, complementing the winemakers’ remarks. Both wineries were small and Keith & Linda were obviously good friends with the owners. This was a real highlight of our 3 plus week vacation. We bumped into Keith & Linda the next day in another small town, and they gave us a recommendation for lunch, which we followed, and it was delightful. They are talented, enthusiastic promoters of the region’s wines and lovely people to boot.
