Telsim eSIM unfair contract

1.00Took out a low cost eSIM with Telsim when visiting Sydney. They wanted a lot of info. at the time of purchase, and I now find one month after getting back to the UK, that they have charged me £28 for continuation of the contract. When I complained, they said that I needed to have gone online and cancelled the recharge contract. This is clearly an unfair practice designed to sell you a cheap deal only to clobber you later. There is clearly no need to go online if you have a prepaid eSIM, you just use the service. This was the only time I have felt ripped off by an Australian company.
