Exciting flight experience to discover the volcano Etna and its natural wonders with take-off from the private helipad of Fiumefreddo di Sicilia. The tour includes shuttle service with pick-up by car from Taormina / Giardini Naxos, a welcome drink/coffee and safety briefings with experienced pilots. Flying by helicopter over Mount Etna means embracing summit craters, recent flows and the gigantic Valle del Bove at a glance. It is the most spectacular and safest way to read the “breath” of the volcano and understand how much its continuous eruptions shape the landscape. Highlights: Summit craters (Bocca Nuova, Voragine, SE, NE) and their morphological variations after eruption, Valle del Bove and the great collapse scars, Bottoniere and recent lava fields, 360° panoramas of eastern Sicily and the Aeolian Islands.

There is a minimum number of participants: at least 4 paying passengers are required to confirm departure. If the minimum number is not reached, the departure may be cancelled; in this case you will be offered an alternative date or a full refund.
The helicopter experience on the volcano Etna requires favorable weather conditions. If cancelled due to bad weather, you will be offered a different date or an alternative tour of the east coast of Sicily (Taormina, Isola Bella, Castelmola, Riviera dei Ciclopi). All passengers must accept the same option offered to make the alternative flight.
How are seats allocated in the helicopter? The assigned seats depend on the weight and height of the passengers to maintain the balance of the helicopter.

5.00Hands down the BEST thing you can do in Sicily. It is hard to put into words how incredible the sight of Mount Etna is from above. It will take your breath away. We saw red hot lava flows from the air, the three main craters, and lava flows from the 19th century. Then we had an exhilarating ride over the 40 square kilometre lava field and on to Taormina to see the amphitheater from above and the awesome surrounding villages. Our wonderful pilot narrated our trip so we knew what we were looking at. Truly a once in a lifetime experience. Don’t hesitate to book!

The landscapes were breathtaking but what truly made the experience exceptional was Marcello, our pilot. He was outstanding, warm, kind, and incredibly knowledgeable about the region and its history. His passion and insight brought everything to life. This was more than just a tour it was a memory for a lifetime. If you're considering it, don’t hesitate, it’s a must-do in Sicily!

Calm, clear, and full of charm, he delivered a flight that was equal parts thrilling and deeply educational. I learned more about Mount Etna, volcanoes, and the spirit of Sicily in that short time than I ever expected. And adding the extra 10 minutes to fly over the coastline and the city? Absolutely priceless. Worth every cent and more. Marcelo’s storytelling, his perfect English, and his ability to make us feel safe while completely blowing our minds, it was masterful. We were laughing, wide-eyed, and hanging off every word as we watched lava trails, ancient craters, and Etna’s raw beauty beneath us. The experience started even before take-off, with a private transfer to the helipad by Raffaella, who made us feel like VIPs from the moment we stepped into the car. The welcome we received at reception was warm and genuine, the safety briefing was clear and professional, and the gift at the end was the perfect cherry on top. If you’re coming to Sicily and thinking of seeing it from the ground, don’t. The only way to truly experience the island’s magic is from the sky, and the only team to trust is HeliSicily.
