Good activity, very nice staff, well suited to families with young kids. Hearing about Samis around fire and BBQ was nice too. It would be great if there was the possibility to go faster with the snowmobiles (for those who feel like it). Thank you!

Do the safartica. The organizers are very good and you can do a lot of activities. Snowmobile, sled dog , forest survival training , etc.

Experience to do absolutely! We were accompanied by Emil, a really prepared and very helpful Italian guy. The hike lasted slightly longer than it should and we were really happy.

We had a great experience with Safartica! The tours are well organized and well planned. It was particularly positive that the snow clothes were available on site, which minimized the effort. Raffaela was very nice and always helpful, which made the whole experience and holiday even more enjoyable. The snowmobile tour with Boris and Mayra was a highlight. He brought in personal anecdotes that brought the tour to life. Also the Finnish for beginners course was very entertaining and fun. We can only recommend Safartica and would book again anytime!

Never snowmobiled before, but we went for individual machines rather than riding pillion for 1/2 the trip and swapping over, and glad we did. Although we had warm clothes, we opted for their offer of snowsuits on top. Excellent trip headed by Temu our knowlegable local Finnish guide, and his helpful young Italian assistant. Wonderful feeling going along the deserted frozen Kemi River in Rovankiemi, then through the twisting forest tracks to the isolated hut and hot drinks and food at the halfway stage. Great experience, felt safe and looked after the whole trip which lasted about 3 hours.

Safartica were great to book through. All provided equipment & clothing for the cold was great quality including the snowmobiles. The guide (Emile) was fantastic and although we arrived back at HQ over 1 hour later than planned (@ 00:15), this was due to Emile giving us time to experience and photograph the Northern Lights which were just astounding. The company clearly strives to provide the best possible experience for customers rather than rushing. The passion for this was certainly evident with Emile. A POSITIVE POINT TO NOTE. Safartica have their own insurance to cover customers in the event of an injury or medical issue. This is something that was a surprise to me when arriving at Safartica. Many from the UK would ordinarily have to add ‘extreme sports’ to their travel insurance which can be costly. This is a real bonus.

I loved the nocturnal snowmobile ride. The guides are super nice and give their time to explain. I had a great time around a campfire!

It was an exciting tour, as I have never driven a snowmobile in the dark. Also the sausages and cookies were delicious. We did not see any Aurora lights but if there is activity it will be visible form the place where they stop to have a break.

Sharing this from a pure newcomer to the wild Lapland. 1). Our guide Edward was clearly superbly experienced but came across as a little curt. He had little patience with newbies; perhaps because he also had to attend to the more adventurous ones in the group. 2). Safratica / Edward and his partner prepared us way better for the cold wild Lapland at night then other guides we met. I think the woolen socks, mittens and boots kept us warmer compared to what the other tour providers had used. Thank you. 3). Edward was efficient, neat and very clean with his campfire, BBQ sausages / marshmallows preparations. He was however brisk and businesslike. This unfortunately took away the cosy campfire atmosphere. 4). The trail was exciting. Snowmobiling at night after a full day of snow was an entirely new experience. We struggled but yes, this was a totally unforgettable night. 5). Catching the aurora was a huge bonus. Kudos to Safratica for setting up a “Swamp” / campsite right smack in an opening in the forest. 6). I’d recommend this tour to adventurous adults. I think families with kids may struggle on the snowmobiles at night, mounting forestry trails; unless their guide(s) is super patient and used to newbies.

I am extremely grateful for this experience which gave me the opportunity to see the Northern Lights; for this reason they really deserve 10 stars. Otherwise, everything was very well organized, from equipment to guides. The only downside is that, in my opinion, excursion prices are a bit high, with an average of EUR 150 per person.
