1. Meet at the central exit of JR Omori Station at 10:30 am. Look for someone with a bag with the "homecoming TAKA" logo on it. 8 minutes walk to my house. On the way, you will pass by a shrine and walk through a quiet residential area. 2. When we arrive at my house, I will explain today's program. Origami → making udon noodles → making Japanese food (sushi, dumplings, etc.) → matcha green tea → souvenir calligraphy colored paper 3. First, origami. Fold the paper crane. 4. After that, make udon noodles. Enjoy the process from materials to completion. You step on the material. 5. We will make sushi and gyoza together as the main menu for lunch. As an experience of Japanese cuisine, it will be the main course of the day. In addition, my wife serves some Japanese small plates. 6. Enjoy conversation and enjoy a leisurely lunch. All materials are made in Japan. Drinks too. Beer, sake, shochu and soft drinks are free. Drink, eat and have a blast! 7. After dinner, make matcha together. Taste matcha with local Japanese sweets. 8. Finally, Keiko will write the visitor's name in calligraphy on colored paper and take it home as a souvenir. 9. It's a regrettable time. My husband and I are easily moved to tears. We will send you off to JR Omori Station, hoping to see you again next time.

Very nice experience with a friendly couple. Good for kids. Our kids really enjoyed all the hands on activities and learned a lot.

We all thoroughly enjoyed spending time with Taka and Keiko. I particularly enjoyed making sushi and eating it. But we also did many other things. Best time in Japan.

Our family visited Taka and Keiko's wonderful home today. Taka met us at the station. We walked a few minutes to his and Keiko's house in a delightful suburb of Tokyo. Thoroughly recommend this all-round Japanese experience: cooking (and eating!), art, history, culture. We tried so many activities and discovered so much about Japan. Our hosts were also very interested in our countries. A wonderful and unique home experience. Lovely couple. Thank you Taka and Keiko for welcoming us into your home and making us feel so special. We hope to return to Japan soon, and visit Taka and Keiko again.

We had such a great time with Taka and Keiko. They were so welcoming, we instantly felt comfortable with them and had a great time learning, cooking, and eating! I booked this because of all the great reviews and am happy to add one more to the list. If you're considering booking, just do it! You will have the best time and leave feeling like you have two new friends in Japan. Side note: Don't be like me. I am a barefoot (no socks) enthusiast, which is more or less acceptable where I live but after going to Taka and Keiko's I read that you should always wear socks in people's homes, temples, etc. Taka and Keiko were too kind to say anything but I feel like I should spread the word just in case anyone else is living the no socks life. Maybe this is old news to the rest of the world but I had no idea. I will definitely wear or bring a pair of socks next time! And yes, there will definitely be a next time :)

We had an amazing experience either Taka and Keiko. All of the aspects of the day were fantastic. They entertained, educated and fed our family (kids aged 7 and 3) for the entire day. Would highly recommend and cannot wait to visit again!

We had 3 generations of our family taking part in this experience ranging from age 16 to 77, and we all loved it! It was an extremely personal, fun, and educational way to spend the day. Taka and Keiko were so gracious and engaging, all of the activities were well thought out and organized, and it was so special to be welcomed into their home. You should definitely do this - it will be a highlight of your trip and you will leave feeling like you made 2 new friends!

Taka and Kieko were the perfect hosts. From the moment Taka met the six of us at the train to Kieko waving goodbye to us as Taka led us back to the train, we felt welcomed and part of the family. We learned a lot about Japanese traditions as well as their personal family life. We had an origami lesson, then learned how to make various types of sushi, udon noodles, and vegetable tempora. 2 of us don’t eat raw fish so they even provided vegetable alternatives that resembled the sushi so we felt included. We enjoyed the huge delicious lunch followed by Japanese sweets and learning about the proper way to drink matcha. Finally, we tried our hand at calligraphy. We left with a bag full of goodies including our personalized calligraphy beautifully done by Kieko as well as our own calligraphy attempts, sushi making items and origami papers along with a sweet treat. The four hours + spent with them were the highlight of our Tokyo stay. Don’t miss it!

We had a great time with Taka-san and his wife. Their hospitality went beyond simply teaching us a few authentic japanese recipes and culture. It was their warmth and kindness that stuck with us the most long after the experience. The thoughtful gifts for the kids as well as their patience in answering never-ending questions and sharing their knowledge will be forever cherished.

What a fantastic experience! We met Taka and Keiko, beautiful people! They guided us through folding Origami, making fresh Udon noodles from scratch, making Sushi, and cooking Tempura. Most enjoyable however was learning to write our names in Caligraphy and drinking Macha Tea the proper way. To top it off we were able to eat the food we created for lunch, YUMMY! We did so much that time seem to fly by, before we knew it we had to part, but we left with the feeling that we had made life long friends in Japan! We now belong to the Team Taka homecoming Family.

Taka and Keiko graciously welcomed us into their lovely home to share their knowledge and passion for Japan, its food and some of its art . Our 4 hours together just flew by Being able to prepare delicious food with experts gave me the tips and tricks that I can use at home ! The communication before the experience was excellent and the instructions for the meeting place were very clear. I particularly liked the photo of the man we were to meet ! Thank you Taka and Keiko for a great experience. It was so special to have met you 🙏
