This tour is a must for anyone visiting Loreto. You can't truly appreciate the town of Loreto without understanding the history of the Sierra de la Giganta and the San Javier Mission. Our tour guide Joselino ("Lino") was outstanding and it was a huge bonus that his hometown was San Javier! The van ride was very comfortable and plenty of drinks were provided along the way. The restaurant lunch included in San Javier was excellent. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone wanting to learn more about this fascinating region.

Our guide was the best. Leno was very knowledgeable having been born and raised in San Javier. We learned the history of Loreto and the Jesuits who came from Spain in 1695 encountering the native tribes and feeding them thereby gaining trust. Leno also was very knowledgeable about the various trees, vegetation, and climate. We also toured the church and had lunch in San Javier. There was time for souvenir shopping in San Javier. Would recommend this tour.

If you are interested in the history of Loreto and the surrounding area, this tour is for you. Carlos, our guide, told great stories and was full of information about Loreto, the animals, plants, geology and history. The drive into the mountains was beautiful and he stopped a couple of times to explain the significance of what we were seeing. The mission was interesting as was the explanation of the life of the jesuits there as well as the life of the current residents of this small village. Great selection of food for lunch.

We took the San Javier Mission tour with Jose Lino while in Loreto on a cruise. He began the tour by telling us that this tour is very special to him because his family comes from San Javier and that his grandfather still lives there. There were only three people on our tour and Lino answered every question we had, talking about the local flora and fauna, agriculture, culture, history, geology, and influence of European culture on the Indigenous peoples in the area. We had plenty of time in San Javier. Our lunch was delicious and the van was stocked with cold drinks that were always available. The tour of the olive Grove and fruit orchard was fun and unique. We cannot recommend this tour enough. This was our only excursion we took on our cruise and we were so glad we did. Do not think twice - book this tour!

This mission is an absolutely beautiful representation of the early Jesuit missions in Baja, inside & out. The juxtaposition of the mountains behind the mission create a picture card perfect scene. The local restaurant/ bar has a pretty tasty lunch and choice of beer or cocktails. I'd recommend the tour from Loreto as you also get to see a rustic goat ranch as well.

Carlos, our guide, was excellent. Very personable, informative, and considerate for our comfort. We couldn’t ask for better. The tour was great and quite interesting. We had a tasty authentic lunch at a local restaurant. Townspeople were welcoming. We highly recommend this excursion for local experience.

It was a wonderful and educational trip. Our guide Carlos was great and spoke English and Spanish which made the experience even better! Despite the heat, he provided everything we needed and was attentive to any needs anybody had. The best part was his multi-lingual historical knowledge about the area.

Many interesting facts about the mission and its culture were presented by Santos. The places we visited were authentic and were not commercialized in any way.

This company cancelled all 3 tours I booked with them during our 4 day trip to Loreto and left us with very little to do during my girlfriend’s birthday trip. They never even gave us an option to pay more for a private tour. Completely unacceptable and I hope they understand that this continuous cancellation of our tours had a huge impact on our enjoyment of what was supposed to be a special birthday trip. So lame!
