Subhan, our guide grew up in Dharavi Slum as a child. He played there, went to school there and so you will get first hand experiences of those living and working there. He now lives nearby the area so he knows much. Subhan showed us many areas of the going ons in the slum and you will experience more than you expect Higjly recommend because Dubhan is knowledgeable of this place.

I booked this private tour alone alone and was lucky to have Ruba as my guide. She was excellent – on time, clear English, very knowledgeable, and professional. We covered the recycling units, leather workshops, textile and pottery areas, and the residential part. Everything was well-organized, respectful, and informative. Ruba answered all questions directly and made the time fly by. Good tour, great guide. Highly recommend.

Our guide Ruba for the Dharavi tour was exceptional — incredibly knowledgeable and clearly passionate about sharing the real story of the community. Ruba explained everything with depth and detail, giving us insight into the industries, culture, and daily life in a way that felt authentic and respectful. Her English was excellent, making the entire experience easy to follow and engaging. We walked away with a much better understanding of Dharavi thanks to her expertise. Highly recommend her to anyone visiting Mumbai.

Our guide Ruba was excellent. She met us a short walk from the slum area and gave us an explanation of what the slums were. We first visited the recycling units and we're able to step in some. It was very interesting. We then walked through the residential area and stopped in an open area where children were playing. We especially enjoyed this. She explained how the place "worked" and how there was a sense of community there. The only challenging part was walking through the narrow passages where we had to be aware of the uneven ground. I would recommend this tour especially if Ruba is your guide. Thank you.
