  Nice and Jq, guide and Dhiraj driver were very friendly and knowledgeable. Was educational and fun tour.We started at Gateway of India and it was very easy to find the location for pickup.

  Our first time in India, arriving in Mumbai by cruise ship. We booked this tour through Viator and to be honest did not really look into the tour company we were using. We had done a tour to Elephanta island with another company the day before and the guide we had was not very easy to understand, talked very quickly and to be honest you got the impression he didn’t really want to be there. So our next day we were a little worried as to how it would go. We were very fortunate to be with a company called Magical Mumbai Tours (www.magicalmumbaitours.com). We had booked a private driver and guide to take us for a sightseeing tour and after our experience the day before hubby and I were a little bit apprehensive. (The day before the guide insisted we do a review there and then on trip-advisor, and then asked me to read it to him before I posted it……that explains all the one time only reviews from people)!!!! I don’t know whether the gods looked down on us and felt we deserved better, but the next day we were met by Atik (Sam) and within seconds we felt at ease. His English was perfect, very eloquent and the nicest guy you could possibly meet. A physics teacher during school terms and an extremely hard working guide during the tourist season. We normally like to do things on our own but I have got to say that the sights of Mumbai would have been not much to write home about if it were not for Sam bringing them alive. We saw so much in our limited time with him, he took us places that we would never have found by ourselves, took us through the laundry area with the aid of a young 17 year old boy who lived here and wanted to become a tour guide, on our own you would not dream of thinking of walking around, let alone climbing on the roof top amongst the freshly washed sheets and towels. All the time Sam gave us interesting facts, figures, history and stories of his city that made the tour such a lovely experience, we learnt so much and left us wanting to explore more. We stepped foot in Mumbai as extremely worried tourists and finished the day making a friend and wanting more. Can not thank you enough Sam and wish you and your family all the best for the future. Also many thanks to the driver, these guys really are so skilled to be able to drive and not hit anything or be hit by anyone, we felt very safe in his capable hands. If you are in Mumbai and wanting a tour we can 100% recommend this company and 110% recommend Sam.

  

• A glimpse of Mumbai and the slums

  This tour was sold as a private tour, but it was affected by the number of cruise passengers booked on the tour. The driver and car were private, at each stop a tour guide met you - and others and showed you around. The slum tour suffered as the group was large and it was difficult to hear due to the size of the group. I would do it again but not if it was overbooked.

  We had a really nice tour with our nice and courteous guide Nik through Mumbai. We have seen the main sights of the city have gotten a lot of information around Mumbai and had pleasant conversations with Nik. We were comfortably driven from one sight to the next. A completely successful tour.

  The tour is definitely not recommended. Value for money poor, far too short, and a lot of unnecessary absenteeism. Chaotic execution. Guide was okay.

  I recently did the City Tour + Slum Tour in Mumbai and it was an excellent experience from start to finish. Pick up was punctual and they were proactive about confirming a specific time. Our driver Sultan and guide Shruti were both very conversational and happy to answer any questions throughout the day. Shruti did a great job pointing out landmarks and providing context along the way. I got solid coverage of the city’s highlights, including the Gateway of India, at a comfortable pace with no pressure to buy anything. The slum tour with Anu was particularly well organised. She took us through each of the four distinct sections — plastic recycling, residential areas, leather works and the pottery quarter — giving a respectful and insightful look into how the community operates. It felt authentic, not intrusive. Overall, a thoughtful, well-paced tour with good people. Would recommend.

  The whole day was fantastic. Our personal guide around Mumbai's major sights was extremely knowledgeable and was able to tell us all sorts of interesting things. Then we were handed on to the extraordinary Pooja who took us on a revealing and truly inspirational tour of the ghetto where she lived. I'd strongly recommend both parts of the day, both the usual must-see tourist experiences and learning about how many of the city's people live and work. It's a fabulous pairing and will live forever in your memory.

  Marshall was an excellent guide, friendly and informative while also knowing when to let me have space to look at things. I thoroughly enjoyed the tour itself and would recommend it, Marshall, and the driver Wasim to others.
