In the summer, there is the possibility to take a dive at Almoxarife Beach! Don't forget to bring a bathing suit and a towel. There's a place to swap on the beach. There is only one rule: you have to be dry before you go back to the cart.
The tours usually end at 16:30, but we are flexible with the schedule. A good solution for travelers who wish to return to Pico at the end of the tour.

Monte Da Guia Walking Trail
Monte da Guia is a volcanic cone with two semicircular craters. From this place you will have a privileged view to the beach of Porto Pim and to the city of Horta.

The suggested itinerary is the normal for this tour. However, there may be changes (in the duration of the places to visit and the places to visit), taking into account the season of the year and the state of the weather. In case we have to change any of the places to visit, we will show others, such as natural volcanic pools, forest parks, among others. Our goal is to provide you with the best possible experience!

5.00We had a wonderful day seeing the sights of Faial with Ramiro Paz. It’s a beautiful place and he knows every nook and cranny of it. His love of the island is obvious and by the end of this tour, you will love it too. He is kind, personable and knowledgeable, everything you want in a tour guide. We took a lot of tours in the. Azores and this was one of the best.

5.00Ramiro made the tour very personal. He showed us ‘his’ island from different sides. One sprayed his love for the Azores, Fajal and nature. We also had people with us who do not understand English and so he always left time to translate what was said. At the typical lunch, the group also had time to get to know each other. We were lucky and the constellation was a great fit. Ramiro has a great knowledge, and also incorporates personal anecdotes. Since we stayed on Fajal only for 2 nights, this trip was perfect for us to see most of the island in the short time.

He’s a local with deep roots in the community, and his passion for the island shines through in every story, stop, and scenic overlook. Ramiro’s knowledge and warm personality made the day feel like exploring the island with a very informed friend. The pace of the tour was perfect, well-organized yet flexible enough to stop for photos or extra time at points of interest. From the lunar landscapes of Capelinhos to the lush Caldeira, and stunning coastal viewpoints in between, every moment was memorable. 5.00For a small island, there is a lot worth seeing, and without a guide like Ramiro, it would be easy to miss some of the best parts. Before, during, and after the tour, he was helpful and a great communicator. As with many tours of this sort, we got some local color and hit some spots you ight also fun in the guidebook, but what set it apart was his clear passion for how the little things fit into the grander scheme of the world - whether that was savoring the flavor of nectar from a plant by the side of the road (see picture of Ramiro demonstrating the technique) or describing the explosive forces creating the new volcanic are of the island. He was quite flexible, letting us linger in the spots we were enjoying the most (like lunch in a spot that you would have not even noticed walking by that turned out to be a plethora of authentic Portuguese flavors) and checking in with us in other areas to see if we wanted to adjust our timing in one spot to get more time in another. With these sort of small van tours, who you are with can make a huge difference in the experience, and Ramiro did a lovely job of allowing us to get to know each other but also asking questions as the conversation faltered - allowing us to connect to the point that we all got drinks afterwards. I could go on, but the bottom line is this is a great tour with a great guide, and I would happily and honestly suggest you try it out if you are here reading this note.

5.00Ramiro was our guide and he took exceptionally good care of our group. He has an incredible knowledge of this island having been born on Faial. He has a great understanding of the island's history, geology, and many biological aspects. Plus, he seems like just a really, really nice guy! We covered a lot of ground in one day (east,"top", and west sides), but never felt rushed. Plenty of time to walk/hike around at our stops. Food was good for our lunch break (buffet style). Ramiro used a microphone headset when we were touring in his vehicle, so it was easy to hear in the back. I would definitely recommend this tour to friends.
