This is a one of a kind experience - unique and at the same time, comfortable and familiar. To be welcomed into someone's home so warmly and fed so well was truly special. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to see more of what makes Uruguay such a lovely place. Also, bring a healthy appetite because there are many delicious things to sample.

This is a must do when visiting Montevideo! It is such a unique way to experience the culture. The family is wonderful both during the event as well as before and after. They provided great recommendations for other restaurants in the city and Buenos Aires. I cannot recommend this more. 10/10 experience.

This is a FANTASTIC experience. My fiance and I could not have been happier with our experience. The family is incredibly communicable, friendly, and inviting. They texted with us days in advance, picked us up from our hotel in Montevideo, and brought us to the beautiful family farm where they showed us around, allowed us to explore on our own, and cooked us an incredible meal- asada, an authentic Uruguayan meal, with the whole family present. Turns out, the family has done this every sunday together for years and just decided it would be nice to invite travelers to enjoy and share their culture. We have both traveled extensively in our lives and have been to 40+ countries, this ranks as one of the best, most authentic, and most culturally informative experiences we have ever had the pleasure of enjoying. 11/10!

Asado is a staple in Uruguay so I decided this tour would give me a chance to experience it with a family. What a fun experience it was. The host family was welcoming and through Google Translate we could have lots of conversations - cultural comparisons, trips and food. (The strongest English speaker of the family wasn’t available. My Spanish was far more elementary than there English.) The food was plentiful as was the frivolity. I played some soccer with the kids too! A wonderful day in the country with a welcoming family!

There was only 1 review when I booked this... I was a little concerned. Don't be. Great experience with a wonderful fun welcoming family that cooks amazing food. I was traveling alone and they really went out of their way to make me feel welcomed. And come hungry. There will always be food available to eat and wine to drink. You do not get shortchanged. Even though it's 20 minutes west of Montevideo they were willing to come in and meet me at a central location. Take them up on it if you don't have a car. I think this is a better option than another vineyard tour in Uruguay.

This is a great, authentic local experience and well worth a try. The host, Jorge, invites you into his family home to enjoy their regular family Sunday asado. The whole extended family is there, Jorge and his wife, their sons, partners, nephews grandkids, cats and dogs. It’s a fun riot of a time. Jorge is a maestro on the asado, cooking meats and vegetables equally well, and so delicious! Wines from the family vineyard are served - and soft drinks too of course, if you want. Torta de dulche de leche for dessert. My wife and I were only their second guests and we loved the experience. We felt honoured to be invited into their home. Please don’t expect fancy silver service or anything like that. It’s a family farm / vineyard with all that that entails. The more Spanish you speak the better, that would definitely enhance your experience. That said we had fun despite our limited grasp of Spanish. Come hungry as they are generous hosts. They also very kindly provided gluten free bread for my wife. We got to try all manner of offal, which was also a great experience. If you want to experience life outside the regular tourist track, this is for you. Dive in and enjoy.
