What makes this experience unique is that it takes place in a real Buenos Aires family home, where cooking becomes a shared moment. Kids take the lead while everyone participates, turning a traditional recipe into a fun and meaningful activity for the whole family. More than a cooking class, it’s a chance to connect with Argentine culture through food, stories, and time spent together around the table.

Step into a warm Buenos Aires family home where kids take the lead in the kitchen and we all cook together, learning to make one of Argentina’s most beloved dishes — empanadas. This family-friendly experience is designed so kids truly take the lead in the kitchen while everyone cooks together. They don’t just watch — they crack eggs, knead the dough, and shape their own empanadas, turning the kitchen into a joyful, hands-on space. We make everything from scratch, just like my grandmother taught me. You’ll choose between a classic beef filling or a vegetarian option, and I’ll guide you through the traditional Argentine repulgue technique to seal each empanada. To finish, we prepare mini alfajores filled with dulce de leche — and yes, kids assemble them too. More than a cooking class, this is a warm family moment: we cook, laugh, share stories, and experience Argentine tradition around the table.

It was a present for my wife and she loved it. Host and teacher Debi made learning how to make empanada easy and fun. And I got to sample the results. Terrific.

Debi was a gracious host and made learning how to make Argentina's iconic empanadas was fun and easy. And also enjoyed sharing a glass of wine or two with my classmates. Highly recommend it.

This experience was great, I felt like a kid when I used to help my grandmother cook our favorite things. Empanadas are a perfect and traditional food. Loved learning the techniques. Lots of fun. Highly recommended. Debra was sweet and very friendly.

We had a great time learning how to make Empanadas with Deborah. She warmly welcomed us into her mom’s home and made us feel right at home as she explained what we were going to do. Everyone had a job and we all were able to make some yummy empanadas. Would highly recommend!

Yum!!! What a fantastic way to learn about the empanadas! Debi welcomed us into her childhood home and shared how to make empanadas. We learned about the history as well as prepping/cooking tips as well. The empanadas turned out lovely. I will be taking home this experience and will be enjoying it again and again with my family and friends. - better than any souvenir/gift that I could get them or myself. When I travel, I want to have experiences, not just check off on a list sights I have seen. If you are like me, do not hesitate to sign up!

We had a great time making empanadas and drinking mate. Debbie made it feel like we were just visiting our friend in Buenos Aires.

Our group of 12 had a class with Debi in October, and the experience was absolutely incredible. The historic house added a magical touch — it truly felt like cooking inside a fairy tale. Debi’s aesthetic approach made everything feel thoughtful and inspiring, and having her family stop by to say hello made the experience even more warm and personal. The empanadas were delicious!!! Highly recommend!
