This was an incredibly fun experience. My partner and I were surprised that we were able to learn about the history of mochi, make it, and eat it all in just one hour! We signed up for the family friendly class expecting mostly kids to take part in the experience, but there was definitely fun to be had for all. Would highly recommend!

I visited with my 10-year-old daughter, and we had such a great time. The staff were cheerful, friendly, and made everyone feel welcome. My daughter especially enjoyed pounding the mochi with the “yoisho!” cheer and tasting it with a variety of toppings. The freshly made mochi was so soft and delicious!! It’s a wonderful activity for families, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a fun and authentic mochi-making experience.

Family of 2 adults and 2 kids (2.5 yo and 4 yo) who have had mochi before many times. We enjoyed it as a fun experience and the staff were very friendly and kind. It was informative and our kids really enjoyed being able to participate in it all, even my 2.5 year old could have a go at everything. They have clothes and gloves for kids. They still remember it after the trip and saying "yoisho!" while pounding the mochi. Highly recommend as something interactive and fun that they can do.

We had a great time learning about mochi, making it, and eating it with all the different toppings. We got to wear a happy-coat and take lots of pictures. I know my 9 year old daughter will remember it forever. Just a tip to confirm you have the right address ahead of time because the event was automatically added to my calendar but the address in there didn’t come up right in Google Maps.

This experience was engaging and fun. Learning about the history of mochi and how it is made was interesting. Making and eating the mochi was fun! The location of this experience is great as well and gives you the chance to explore Dotonbori.

We had such a special and exciting time making mochi! Everyone cheered each other on and it was awesome to eat what we worked so hard for! The staff welcomed us and were excellent guides through our mochi making adventure. It was a big “treat” to make something from my childhood with our 3 year old son and he was fully immersed in a fun part of our heritage ^_^ Thank you for helping us make some very special memories from our visit to Japan ❤️

What a treat and very reasonably priced. We were taught the history of mochi, and then the process begins. The instructors start prepping the mochi as it does take some effort and then we come in, to kind of make it pliable, and then the pounding starts. With each hit we yell yoi-sho. It is good fun. Afterwards we shape our mochi, we realize the artistry to make uniform mochi, we failed. Haha. Then they bring a tray of unique tastes to flavor your mochi. The instructors were fantastic, informative, and friendly. The fresh mochi was delicious. And the variety of flavors were a treat. Take advantage of this unique experience in Osaka right by the river.

Fun mochi making experience for the family. We participated in a few other good experiences while in Osaka (Udon, and family cooking), and they both remarked that mochi pounding was a very unique/special experience! We enjoyed trying all of the different toppings on our home made mochi!

Mochi making was fun for the entire family! My two teenage daughters and husband all say the experience was one of the highlights of our trip. Our hosts were incredibly friendly and shared all things mochi with us. At the end you get to taste the fruits of your labor.
