What To Expect
We will do a Food Tour of 3 hours making 7 different stops highlighting the local specialities that La Rochelle has to offer. This will allow guests to get off the beaten track and experience food and drink that they might not otherwise have the opportunity to. During this time we will taste many of the local delicacies and meet the real people behind this unique and amazing food and drink culture.

5.00Outstanding tour by John. Very knowledgeable about the food (oysters, charcuterie, cheese, patisserie) and the wine (pineau Des Charente, local wines, cognac). Time flew by. Highly recommended. Best Paris-Brest pastry I’ve ever had. I would suggest a light or no dinner afterwards.

5.00Wonderful three hours with John tasting great local foods and wines as well as learning about La Rochelle. We would not have appreciated this great town on our own and John was a wonderful guide. He is personable funny and knowledgeable. Highly recommend this tour!

5.00The tour offered a wonderful blend of La Rochelle’s culinary scene and rich history. The food and drink samplings were delicious and far beyond what you would likely discover on your own. Our guide, John, was incredibly knowledgeable about both the terrain and the terroir, and his relationships with local artisanal vendors gave us an authentic taste of this fascinating city and region. His storytelling and insights brought the history of the area vividly to life. Highly recommended. —Michael

5.00What better way is there to learn about French culture than by walking around, eating, and immersing yourself in it?! John's tour did just that. He shared food, history, culture, and the beautiful city of La Rochelle all while we stuffed our faces on great local cuisine. He is personable, knowledgeable, and well-organized. This was our 2nd tour with him and both were great.
The best way to experience food and drink in La Rochelle.

5.00We added this tour to the end of our La Rochelle walking tour as John had spaces available. We’ve never done a food tour before and will now be looking to do more! We went to places we would never have found and even though one of us doesn’t drink alcohol it was still worth the money. John was knowledgeable and has excellent relationships with the vendors, allowing you to learn so much about the food and culture. Cannot recommend this highly enough

5.00Worth every cent. Great couple of hours of food, drink, explanations and chat. John is an excellent host and is a pleasure to wander around with to the markets, restaurants, general food and wine stores.
