Important Note: Ajanta Caves are closed on Mondays, and Ellora Caves are closed on Tuesdays. If your tour is on Monday, you'll visit Ellora Caves, Daulatabad Fort, and Bibi Ka Maqbara. If it's on Tuesday, you'll explore Ajanta Caves and Bibi Ka Maqbara.

Note :- Ajanta caves closed on every Monday Ellora caves closed on every Tuesday.

Please carry Indian Rupees (INR) for monument entry tickets, as cards are not accepted. We also recommend bringing sunglasses, comfortable shoes, a hat or cap, sunscreen, and a water bottle for a comfortable and enjoyable visit.

What To Expect

Here are three itinerary options for a one-day Ajanta and Ellora Caves tour: ITINERARY NO. 1: Aurangabad to Ellora Caves to Daulatabad Fort to Bibi ka Maqbra to Aurangabad Departure Time: 8:00 AM or 10:00 AM Itinerary: We’ll pick you up from your selected location in Aurangabad and head to Ellora Caves (1-hour drive, 30 km). Spend 3-4 hours exploring the 34 caves. Afterward, enjoy a lunch stop (optional). Then, we’ll visit Daulatabad Fort and Bibi Ka Maqbara on the return journey to Aurangabad. End of Tour: After the tour, inform us of your preferred drop-off location (hotel, railway station, or airport). ITINERARY NO. 2: Aurangabad to Ajanta Caves to Bibi ka Maqbra to Aurangabad Departure Time: 8:30 AM Itinerary: Pickup from your selected location in Aurangabad. The 2-hour drive takes you to Ajanta Caves (100 km). Explore the 29 caves for 3-4 hours. Afterward, you can enjoy lunch (optional). if gate time on return to Aurangabad we will visit Bibi Ka Makbra. End of Tour: Return to Aurangabad and drop off at your preferred location (hotel, railway station, or airport). ITINERARY NO. 3: Aurangabad to Ajanta Caves to Ellora Caves to Aurangabad Departure Time: 7:00 AM Itinerary: Pickup from Aurangabad hotel/airport, travel 2 hours (100 km) to Ajanta Caves. Explore the 29 Buddhist caves, followed by lunch (optional). Then, head to Ellora Caves (1.5-hour drive, 95 km). Explore this remarkable rock temple complex of Buddhist, Hindu, and Jain caves. End of Tour: Return to your hotel or airport in Aurangabad. Choose the itinerary that best suits your schedule and interests!

I fully enjoyed both Ajanta cave and Ellora cave in just one day! It's recommended to spend two days to explore these two caves (I agree with this), but if you only have one day, this tour is highly recommended. The driver is friendly, at the same time well mannered. So in the taxi, you can either learn about cities through the talk with driver or sleep and prepare for next exploration.

Amazing travel agency. They have done all that was possible and impossible to get me to see Ellora Caves - one of my dream places to see - after my flight was cancelled. The driver Mr. Samad, also great as a guide drove from Aurangabad to Mumbai to pick me up from the hotel, it went with us to Ellora Caves, and drove us back in the evening to the airport. Way beyond a driver would do. I want to thank the team at Tour My Choice for a very enjoyable experience with a great drive and a very nice guide. Thanks to them my trip to India was a very good one. And not a total waste because of the cancellations. The Ellora Caves experience was great, also Bibi Ka Maqbara. I am planning to return to visit Ajanta Caves and they are my choice for this next visit.

Elora plans to go by bus, herself, and Ajanta, I booked your tour on the Web. To begin with, I was a little worried about whether they would show up at a designated time (since it's a web reservation). But they kept it neat and on time and place. It was also very interesting to hear stories about India that my guide told me along the way. I am very happy that I was able to visit Ajanta safely, which I have always wanted to visit, and also to see a part of Indian society today.

Ajanta and Ellora caves are beyond imagination! The organiser of this trip speaks good English and he is very helpful. We had a driver called Habib that was also pleasant to talk with and very careful when driving! This package allows you to freely discover and you will be able to contract tourist guides in most of the historic sites.

Excellent means to see both caves in a day. Mr Suleman was a knowledgeable and friendly driver, who pointed out local sites in a comfortable car. Local cave guides offered good context and history of the places. Communication all easy via WhatsApp. Ajanta is a spectacular location with rich paintings (although bring a torch!). Whereas Ellora has more impressive sculptures and variety of caves. Both are excellent but if had to choose one, Ellora would be our pick. Would recommend visiting caves with a guide or reference book. Both caves are touristy, so do expect to be approached by local merchants.

Great value, excellent experience. Ellora Caves was phenomenal. We were inundated with requests for people to take pictures with us, which made for an interesting experience, but I sort of liked the self-guided experience of it. There was no rushing. They picked us up, drove through crazy traffic with AC going on a hot day, waited for us to see what we wanted and dropped us off at the airport. Exactly what we wanted.

We made Ellora and Ajanata tour in one day. It was tough as both places need lots of attention and are simply amazing in different ways. But we managed and it was day full of joy and beauty. Also because of great guidance and driving skills of our driver Mr. Sulemam. He told us also a lot about life in India so we had very interesting trip and learned about local tradition. Punctuality and suppport was simply perfect !!! There no thing we could add to be improved so keep the good work 🙂 see you hopefully

We spent four nights in Aurangabad and stayed at hotel Sparkling Pearl next to the INOX theatre. The hotel location is great - close to nice restaurants. For vegetetians I will recommend the greenleaf restaurant - 3 minutes walk from the hotel. Try the ayurveda tea nearby at cannought, CIDCO - you will love it. First day we went to Shirdi and back. Second day we did the trip to Ellora and the Gruhshneshwar temple (one of the Jyothilingams). Third day we did the day trip to Ajantha. We engaged the hotel taxi that cost us Rs 9500 for the three days. Do engage a guide preferably a govt guide) in Ajanta and Ellora. They charge Rs 2050 for a group of 5 persons.
