What an unforgettable experience! Our day started with a tour through the local market, where we hand-selected fresh produce, meats, cheeses, and ingredients that we would later use in our cooking class. From the moment we arrived at our hosts’ beautiful home, we felt like family. They welcomed us into their kitchen and shared not only their recipes but also their way of life. We loved exploring their garden filled with fresh herbs and vegetables, and were amazed to learn they even grow their own wheat. Throughout the day, they patiently taught us how to make traditional homemade pasta, authentic meatballs, Pasta alla Norma, and caponata. Every dish was absolutely delicious, especially when paired with local meats, cheeses, and plenty of Prosecco. What made this experience so special was how personal and genuine it felt. We didn’t just learn how to cook Sicilian dishes—we learned about the culture, traditions, and stories behind them. By the end of the day, it felt like we had made new friends. Thank you for opening your home and sharing your hearts with us. It was truly a spectacular day and one of the highlights of our trip. We will cherish these memories (and recipes!) for years to come.

This was an unbelievable delightful experience. We were met by the Market in town by Giovanni. We strolled through collecting only the best ingredients for the meal we were to prepare. We then drove to his home and toured his extensive garden. We prepared our delightful meal under his tutelage and guidance. The result? An exquisite homemade meal that was enjoyed by the seven participants. BRAVO!!!

We were looking for a special evening, and we found so much more. Chef Andrea and his wife are extraordinary hosts: from the very first moment, we were wrapped in a warm, genuinely family-like atmosphere, as if we had known each other forever. Andrea is not only an incredibly talented chef with exceptional skills, but he also has a gift for sharing his passion. He introduced us to the secrets of making fresh homemade pasta an experience I never thought would be so fun and accessible to everyone! The dinner was a triumph of authentic flavors, but the real magic was sharing it all together around the same table, with laughter, stories, and excellent wine.

This is a great excursion . It is informative and friendly with an excellent guide for hands on teaching in a personal home. The food was excellent and the teaching was smart and non pressured. This was the best lesson learned thing we did over five days in Syracuse. You will not be disappointed. Giuseppe is a great cook and very knowledgeable. Five stars!

We started with a trip to the market - Giuseppe first presented options for our meal. Then with the menu determined (accounting for likes/dislikes/dietary restrictions), we visited fish, meat, produce, cheese, nut, and spice vendors. It was educational as well as fun. Next, traveling to his home, we were introduced to his chef cousin (Christina) who greeted us like family. A visit to his backyard garden - vegetables, fruits, fruit trees, olive trees, chickens and more to finish selecting the freshest ingredients. He patiently answered all of our gardening questions too. Time to cook the Sicilian way - fun, learning, and they made sure all four of us were part of the process. When everything was finished (4+ courses), we ate together - fabulous! Giuseppe made us feel like we were family. We spent two weeks in Sicily - this was a highlight of our visit.

Giuseppe and Letizia were such welcoming, charming and engaging hosts. Giuseppe guided us around Ortigia’s market, picking out ingredients and suggesting typical Sicilian dishes we could cook together. After a brief tour of his kitchen garden and a refreshing spritz and appetisers we were set to work chopping, prepping, needing dough for fresh pasta and we all sat down together at the end to enjoy the fruits of our labour - a delicious meal, served with Giuseppe’s own wine. There were eight of us in the group - family affair - and it was the perfect way to enjoy a true taste of Sicily.

So much fun! Lovely hosts and we made some delicious food. We were on our honeymoon and decided to take this class and it did not disappoint. If we ever make it back we will 100% be doing it again!
