Welcome to our tour to the City of Srebrenica, a place with a complex history that has shaped the region Our first stop is at the battery factory, which was utilized by UN forces during the war in Bosnia. Here, we will visit the Museum of Srebrenica Genocide, one of the most modern museums in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The curator will personally guide us through the museum and share first-hand experiences of survival in the Srebrenica enclave. The museum is equipped with multimedia facilities that include a selection of movies to help you comprehend the events that led to the worst atrocity in Europe since World War II. We will then visit the Memorial Room, where we will listen to stories of the victims, as narrated by a local journalist. This is not a tour one can ‘enjoy’ in the classic sense. It covers an unspeakable tragedy and there is no sugar coating of what happened here. However, the guide was informative, helpful and conscientious. I think anyone who visits Bosnia should visit this site and be reminded of this. MeetBosnia handled the tour with delicacy.

We took 3 tours with Meet Bosnia and all of them were excellent! Each experience was wonderful. This tour was exactly what I was hoping for when coming to Bosnia. It's so much more than just a visit, it's a dive into the country's history, culture, Srebrenica and people. Our guide Armina truly brought the tour to life. I feel super connected to Srebrenica, what happened there and the peoples' experiences. It left an everlasting effect in my heart.

A moving, disturbing, and fascinating tour with an excellent guide, Almir. The day is long and what you see reflects the deep trauma that comes from nationalism over humanity and caring about your neighbors. Almir is extremely open and forthcoming about his own experiences during the war and opinions on the present and what could happen in the future in this amazing country. He balanced the gravity of the massacre with well placed moments of humor. I wish more people would see what happens when fellow humans devalue humanity; I wish more people would do this tour before they talk about going to war. The museums are too big to truly see everything in one sitting, but what you see will stay with you. All paired with a beautiful drive through the countryside; there’s no way a stranger could tell what happened in Srebenica without a guide and these informative displays. Go on this tour with Almir.

We booked the one day tour with Meet Bosnia to Srebrenica. It was lead by Almir who was had extensive knowledge of the genocide and the war, having lived through it himself. It was a small group so we benefited from Almir's narrative all the way from Sarajevo to Srebrenica. In spite of his personal suffering, he told the narrative factually and had obviously read extensively and referenced what he was saying from the many documents that have come out since this tragedy took place. After arriving at the memorial center, we were part of the general big crowd that watched a documentary for approx 20-30 minutes, after which a younger guide showed us around, and we had the opportunity to take our time and look through the huge exhibition site - it is much bigger than you expect it to be. We also spoke to another volunteer who gave us a unique insight to life after this genocide and the contemporary challenges. Following the large exhibition, we went to a nearby restaurant for a good lunch and then Almir took us to the cemetery where the victims of the genocide have been laid to rest - a process of identification still continues to this day. On the way back Almir answered more questions we had after experiencing the memorial site. He also pointed out key places in the town, which was chilling but informative too. We were really impressed with Almir's professionalism and balanced way of narrating what happened (we were aware of the events from reading about it over the years). We have huge respect for his resilience and that of those who survived and are trying to get on with their lives. Meet Bosnia are very lucky to have him.

I did a whole day tour to Srebrenica with Almir (I hope I'm writing his name correctly), our guide for the entire day. From the get-go, he was sharing experiences, some of them he lived firsthand, and knowledge about that dark period in Bosnia's history. I couldn't have asked for a better guide; the entire journey with the van from Sarajevo to Srebrenica was full of anecdotes, history and even fun facts of this dark period of time. We had plenty of time to experience it all at our own pace without rushing and he was always willing to offer more insights. He walked us through every corner where events had happened, which made me love the experience even more. I absolutely recommend taking this tour as you will not be disappointed.

This study tour involves a subject very close to my heart. This was the 2nd time I have done this tour with Meet Bosnia Tours and the 2nd time was just as powerful and enriching as the first. Our tour guide, Vedo was fantastic. He was very authentic, passionate, educated and a brilliant sense of humour. The subject of the trip is obviously very sad and at times heartbreaking, but it was handled with sensitivity and grace and I would urge anyone to attend. Personally, I believe it is our duty to learn about Srebrenica and educate others. Thank you Vedo and Meet Bosnia Tours for continuing this vitally important work. All your tours are fantastic. I'll be back!
