Step into the heart of Montevideo’s wine culture with a mini city tour followed by a wine tasting experience in the city. We include private transportation with an expert guide.
After seeing the best sights, including stops in the old town and the Montevideo sign, you will go to your winery venue in the city, where you will watch a captivating 15min video on Uruguay and its wine. Then, descend into the intimate cellar room, where a knowledgeable wine guide will lead you through a tasting of 4 exquisite wines from 4 different Uruguayan wineries, paired perfectly with freshly baked empanadas.
For those spending the night, we offer a mini city ride stopping at the Montevideo sign that includes a three-course gourmet dinner paired with three wines, along with the same immersive 15-minute wine video.
Pickup from Hotels or the Port, if you arrive by cruise ship. Discover, taste, and enjoy—Uruguay’s wines have never been this accessible or enjoyable.

5.00When I organize private tours, my main objective is to ensure they are 'one of a kind' experiences. Luckily, I came across Ryan Hamilton and his company, The Wine Experience. Visiting South America’s Punta del Este and Montevideo, my group of 20 persons, through Ryan’s amazing expertise, had unforgettable adventures. We had the good fortune to have exclusive and unique tours which were both private and intimate, meeting people behind the scenes at wineries who educated us on their family-owned wineries. On one of these tours, Ryan organized a private chef who cooked a gourmet lunch (Uruguayan grass-fed meats) with the winery providing extensive wine pairings. Wow, just wow! In addition, we travelled via comfortable transportation to and fro checking out the beautiful and breathtaking views and scenery. All this, together with prompt and succinct emails with Ryan, made my dream come true. And, not just my dream…my friends are still talking about their fantastic escapades in South America…BIG shout out to Ryan...Mission Accomplished.
