To be honest, it started off rather rocky when (who turrned our to be) the guide - no name tag, no shirt with any indication of who he represented - approached us, didn't identify himself and started asking us questions that appearied to us to be rather suspicious. He wouldn't answer our questions and turned and walked away, muttering something to the effect, "okay, if you don't wanna go". We somewhat reluctantly followed and it turned out he was on the level. He neither explained we would be making other stops to pick up other passengers nor explained the sequence of the daily events. In short, as was said in the old movie "Cool Hand Luke", what we (had) here was a "failure to communicate". After what seemed to be a long ride in the back of a pickup with seats, we arrived at the ATV business where things improved. We were assigned machines, made to sign a really broad liability waiver and went on our way for a LONG ride on a 2 lane paved road until we finally turned left onto the trail heading up. We are very experienced ATV/UTV owners and had no problem with the terrain, but this is probably not a trail for beginning riders. Our Can-Am machine has power steering, theirs do not. The ride was somewhat challenging at times, but on par with some mountain riding in the western U.S. The scenery was spectacular and offered numerous opportunities for great shots. Once we on the ride, our guide was friendly and helpful. Some beginner riders had problems. The ATV passenger should have his camera ready for quick snapshots in the mountains, but there are several stops at overlooks which allow for photo composition. Following the ATV ride, we piled back in the truck to be taken to the boat ride. NOTE WELL: No dock, you have wade out barefoot and climb into the boat, not very easy for this 76 year old. We were taken to a private island for an adequate lunch, where again we had to wade to get both on and off the boat. BEWARE. Young boat operator was both friendly and competent. The overview of this excursion was not entirely accurate. We saw no "ancient Polynesian temples", nor was there any mention of any "tropical fruits, medicinal plants and exotic flowers". BOTTOM LINE: Good trip for the $$. (BTY, HAL excursion to this same island, same food, bigger boat, had to wade, too). WEAR SUNSCREEN, BRING FLIP-FLOPS and BROAD BRIMMED HAT. Aspiring ATV rider might want to think twice. ALSO: Elderly or mobility -impaired individuals should inquire as to possible accommodations. We cautiously recommend this excursion with the reservations stated above.

This was a fun trip for my wife and I - and two of our friends. We enjoyed the quad ride up a pretty steep trail, which led to the top of a mountain with amazing views. My wife was hesitant to ride up after hearing a bit about it, but she did fine. The trail is steep and rocky, but we took our time and did just fine. After the ATV portion, there was a bit of confusion since we had arranged for a Motu trip and lunch as well. Our tour guide made a phone call and got things worked out. He dropped us off at a boat that took us to the motu where we enjoyed a nice lunch and had time to snorkel - and see a coconut demonstration. After lunch we had some free time, then were taken by boat to another spot for snorkeling. From there, we were taken back to the pier so we could make connections to get back on our cruise ship. The views from the top of the mountain were remarkable.

This was a great way to see the island. The climb up the mountain on the ATV was fun and the 360 island view was so beautiful! Our guide Tama was friendly and informative. Then we went to a Motu beach that was so so pretty and we were the only 4 people there for the whole afternoon. We had a delicious lunch there too. Really enjoyed the whole day!
