Guide didn't show. Hard to reach. Went with local for 1/3 of the price. Just bad business practice overall...

I highly recommend working with Raj on your visit to Lumbini. Raj is thorough, knowledgeable, and is the source of great conversation. He did a wonderful job explaining the historical and theological aspects of Buddhism and Lumbini. The site itself is well worth the full day visit, but I didn't find it necessary to stay overnight (I flew in from Kathmandu early in the morning and flew back later afternoon). Please consider Raj for your visit.

It was a very interesting and perfect experience. We were guided by Raj, who has very rich knowledge and experience of Buddhism, meditation and yoga. We visited the place where the Buddha was born and Buddhist temples& monastery built by different countries. We learned a lot. In the evening, at our request, the guide also gave us a meditation experience and taught us daily yoga. In addition, special thanks to the guide Raj who helped me find the lost Apple Watch. He is a very reliable and excellent guide, thank you!

The Lumbini site is as extensive as it is beautiful and interesting. Being the birthplace of Buddha, Lumbini is a pilgrimage for many Buddhists and people with an interest in religious history. The Tour Operator is another story! We we arrived at the tour office after a prearranged airport pickup, the operator seem very surprised and unprepared to see us. They then spent 20 minutes on the phone finding a guide. A guide arrived and then we we asked if we wanted to hire a car or tuctuc for the tour. We responded the transport should be included. The tour then started on foot. Finally the guide independently arranged a tuctuc. The tour took 4 hour rather than a full day and they didn’t even provide a bottle of water. I wouldn’t use or recommend this operator.

We booked a paid for this tour before leaving Australia included an agreement to pay US$50 extra for a airport pickup and drop off. We were picked up as expected however the operator seemed surprised when we arrived at their office to commence the tour. 20 minutes later our guide arrived and our tour started on foot. The guide independently organised a tuc-tuc later in the tour. Although the guide was good, I think the operator was badly organised. The tour was over in 4 hours and they didn’t even provided water as stated in the tour prospectus. The driver on the return trip to airport spent the whole trip playing with his mobile phone and not watching the roads. Keep away from this operator is my recommendation.
