What To Expect
You will start your day with your tour guide collecting you from your central Picton accommodation. This full-day experience takes you into the Wairau Plains of the Marlborough wine area while enjoying commentary from your local and experienced guide about the Marlborough region as you travel through lush farmland before arriving to the picturesque seaport town of Havelock. Stop in Havelock to explore, stretch your legs and enjoy morning tea (at your own cost). Your voyager will then continue through the stunning vistas of the Queen Charlotte Drive with the opportunity for photo stops of the Queen Charlotte Sound, wildlife and the bays and inlets you will come across along the way before reaching the charming town of Picton. Have a look around in Picton and have lunch (at your own cost), before doing a half-day wine tour for the afternoon. Your afternoon will include visits to four Marlborough wineries where their cellar door hosts will take you through a comprehensive tasting experience of their range of wines on offer while learning some of the secrets of fine wine appreciation. Your tour guide for the afternoon will also provide you with commentary about the Marlborough wine region and the wineries that you will visit before returning you safely to your accommodation at the end of the day.

5.00Sam was an excellent guide. Morning tour going down to Blenheim and then out to Port Havelock was full of beautiful scenery. Several stops with breathtaking views going from one sound to another. So glad we got to see the areas and even more glad we did not have to drive those narrow winding roads. Afternoon wine tour after lunch was incredible as well.

5.00WOW…This wine tour was fantastic; Simply one of the best I have ever done. All six wineries were excellent. The staff, properties and of course the wines were superb. It is a pleasure to go to family-run boutique places which focus on quality rather than quantity. Our lunch at Allan Scott was amazing. My entire group raved about their meals. Simply world class dining. And last, but certainly not least, was Sam. He was not simply the driver; he was the conductor, our maestro for the day. He made the trip five stars with his knowledge and guidance during every aspect of the tour. Thank you to Sounds Connection for putting this all together.
