Akagera National Park lies in eastern Rwanda, hugging the border with Tanzania. It's characterized by woodland, swamps, low mountains and savannah. The varied terrain shelters wildlife including zebras, giraffes, elephants, lions and hundreds of bird species, such as the rare shoebill stork. I did a one day private tour to Akagera National Park, Rwanda. The price was very reasonable for a private experience. The pre-trip communication was excellent. Pickup was on time and in a very comfortable, clean vehicle. The guide and driver were very friendly and everything was organised very smoothly including a delicious lunch at midday. We spent six hours in the park and we saw pretty much everything except the lions, but not for lack of trying. The driver did his best to communicate with other drivers to find out where the animals were, and it worked. If I had to pick one negative point it would be that the knowledge of the other animals and habitat in the park ( apart from the Big 5) was a bit lacking. I would have liked to know more details about what species of antelope or birds we were seeing and about the ecology of the park. Overall, I would definitely recommend this company. If you only have 1 day to see all the big-ticket animals, these guys will do their very best to find them for you and you will be very , comfortable and well looked after.
