My husband and I highly recommend this tour. We learned so much about Grenada’s history from Ken our driver. The mountainous roads in Grenada can be very twisty and narrow. But Ken handled them so skillfully. He’s available for tours and taxi rides too (473) 536-2466. Our tour guides at the River Antoine Rum Distillery and the Belmont Estate were equally knowledgeable and passionate about their respective locations. Who doesn’t love rum and chocolate? We left appreciating both even more after learning about the complexity of their operations. The Grenadian traditional lunch was also delicious. This excursion is a great way to get to know Grenada better beyond its beautiful beaches. So sign up and enjoy!

The tour consisted of learning about the different spices grown in Grenada especially the cocoa bean. On the way there we learned the history of Grenada. Our tour guide was Michael and he did a great job. We got to taste amazing chocolates. Our final stop was Rivers rum factory. Unfortunately most of the employees were off for the holidays so we didn’t get to see the giant windmill in motion but the guy told us how it was done. At the end we got to taste the rum and was so strong it’s illegal to bring it back. It was strong my stomach is still burning lol.

Michael was a brilliant guide and driver. The tour was great, both the chocolate factory and the rum distillery. Grand Etang was busy and very touristy but nice views. Lunch at the Belmont was very good as well. The minibus was not too full and had great ac. Overall recommended.

We had a fabulous day touring the island with our very knowledgeable guide, Michael. He gave us the history of the island and helped us to understand the culture. It was very interesting seeing how chocolate is made from the tree to the final product. The rum distillery was very fascinating. This was a great way to experience Grenada being the resort!

I could not recommend this tour more highly! Our guide Michael was as kind and personable as he was professional and informative. We were fascinated to learn so much about Grenadian history and culture as well as current societal and political issues. The guides for the tours of chocolate production at the Belmont Estate and rum making at the distillery were also excellent. We really enjoyed the delicious food and the beautiful views at the open-air buffet lunch at the Belmont Estate. Although we did not see any monkeys at Grand Etang, it was interesting to see the lake and learn about the area. Overall a great day!

This was a great trip, albeit a fair amount of driving - but through a beautiful island. Michael, our guide, was very knowledgeable- history, politics, social history - you name it, he knew the answer. The Grand Etang is spectacular, green everywhere, impressive lake in a volcanic crater. The guide at the Belmont Estate who talked us through the whole chocolate making process was very interesting too. Having been around chocolate factories before, this was by far the best and very informative, and the chocolate is delicious! The lunch there, which was included, was traditional and very tasty. The 250 year old rum distillery was an eye opener - everything done traditionally. Beware the rum tasting.- 69% and 75% fire water! I would definitely recommend this tour to others.
