Old Delhi Heritage Walking Tours
Enjoy a food and walking tour of the backstreets of old Delhi. We will walk you through the charming quarters of Old Delhi. Old Delhi Bazaars have colourful and interesting street food and is crowned with the oldest shops with many delicacies. You may enjoy a visual treat. The area is also home to several small temples, shrines, old mosque and protected monument sight. Cows wander the streets, small dharamshalas (rest-houses) and pyaus (water-stations) attest to the pious contributions of local merchants. The walk is an escorted experience as we explore the galis (bye lanes) of Shahjahanabad (Old City), the city built by Emperor Shah Jahan(1628-1658).
Raj Ghat is a memorial to Mahatma Gandhi. It is a black marble platform that marks the spot of Mahatma Gandhi's cremation, on 31 January 1948, a day after his assassination. It is left open to the sky while an eternal flame burns perpetually at one end. It is located on the banks of the river Yamuna in Delhi on Ring Road officially known as Mahatma Gandhi Road. A stone footpath flanked by lawns leads to the walled enclosure that houses the memorial.

I recently traveled to India with Dreamlike India Holidays, coordinated locally in Serbia by Monika Fuderer Masirević, and the entire experience was absolutely perfect. Everything—from the planning and communication to the on-ground arrangements—was handled with exceptional professionalism and care. Monika was incredibly attentive, answering every question and making sure the trip matched exactly what we wanted. Once in India, Dreamlike India Holidays took over seamlessly. The multi-day tour with Harshit through Delhi, Agra and Jaipur was wonderfully organized and there was always room for an individual touch and orientation. Harshit has brought historical details and political as well as social and culinary aspects to me, thus bringing me closer to Indian culture. I can't imagine a better tour guide. Absolutely recommended to travel with Harshit! Genial!

As an introduction to a three-week trip to India, we were guided through the bazaars of Old Dehli by Harshit, Dreamlike India Holidays. Without our guide Harshit we would have been completely lost in the jungle of small streets and alleys, in the confusing frenzy of a thousand scents and smells and in the pulsating noise of dealers and honking motorcycles. We were guided through the bazaar, past paper printers, dyers and hairdressers, to small and larger Hindu and Jain stamping facilities. The strong religiousness of the people was impressive and the mutual consideration defies the crowds. We felt the accompanying information from our guide was important, which gave us a deeper insight into the events. On the surface, of course, everyone can also walk alone through the bazaars and temples, which can understand events and peculiarities, but only with good guidance and accompaniment. All this was conveyed to us by our German-speaking guide Harshit from Dreamlike India Holidays.

Our day with Dreamlike India Holidays exploring Delhi was truly remarkable. The tour was a perfect blend of historical exploration and cultural immersion. Starting with a captivating heritage walk through Old Delhi's bustling bazaars, we soaked in the sights, sounds, and flavors of this vibrant area. The visit to Raj Ghat, where Mahatma Gandhi was cremated, was a peaceful moment of reflection amid beautifully maintained gardens. At Gurudwara Bangla Sahib, we were deeply moved by the serene atmosphere and the community spirit of the Langar, where everyone is welcome to share a meal. India Gate and Qutub Minar offered awe-inspiring perspectives on India's history and architectural marvels. Throughout the tour, our guide was knowledgeable and passionate, enriching our experience with insights and stories. The logistics were smooth, ensuring a relaxed and enjoyable day for our family. Overall, we highly recommend Dreamlike India Holidays for an enriching exploration of Delhi's heritage and culture. It was a trip filled with unforgettable moments and genuine connections.

We were a small group of friends decided to do this 1 day Delhi tour. Highlight of the tour for us was the visit to the biggest Asian spice market in old delhi during the heritage walk. We loved it very much and recommend it to everyone who visits Delhi.
