What To Expect
Cristo Rei (Jesus Statue)
Located at Ponta do Garajau, the Cristo Rei Viewpoint offers a unique perspective over this Natural Reserve. It owes its name to the majestic statue built on this site in 1927. The Cristo Rei Viewpoint owes its name to the statue of the Sacred Heart of Jesus built on this spot. It is an imposing sculpture of Jesus Christ, with open arms, facing the ocean.
Miradouro Pico Dos Barcelos
The large valley that serves as a natural amphitheatre for Funchal, on one side, and the calm sea that bathes the south coast of Madeira, on the other: this is what you can see from the Pico dos Barcelos Viewpoint. This observatory is at an altitude of 355 metres and is ideally positioned for visitors to enjoy peaceful views of Funchal's urban landscape, particularly its bay.

5.00This was a fabulous excursion of Madeira. Our guide/driver was very flexible as our ship was delayed by a storm. Diogo kept in constant contact with us and picked us up when our ship arrived. He drove us all over Madeira and showed us the highlights. He spoke English and Portuguese and discussed the history of the island, the economy, and the inhabitants. He answered all of our questions about the area. He is a native of Madeira and is very proud of his country. He was very flexible with our visits to different sites and is an excellent driver. He also gave us a recommendation of a local restaurant which had wonderful food and atmosphere. We will definitely hire Diogo when we return to this beautiful island.

5.00Absolutely wonderful! Can I give 10 stars? We first met Diogo last year when we visited Madeira with my daughter and grandchildren, seven of us in all. He gave us a super day , views of the Nun’s valley, and taking football- mad grandson to see Christian Ronaldo’s statue. This year it was just my husband Tim and myself . Tim has terminal cancer and Diogo went out of his way make sure Tim was comfortable. We had a lovely 5 hours , visiting Camara de Logos, Botannical gardens, Christ statue and the market. Diogo suggested ways and paths to make walking easier for Tim. We thoroughly enjoyed his company and conversations. He is a delightful, caring and thoughtful young man. Thank you so much, Diogo!

5.00This was a fabulous tour. Diogo was very accommodating as our ship docked a little later than scheduled due to a severe storm. He kept in constant contact with us. He is a native of Madeira and gave us so much information on the island, the inhabitants and the economy. He was flexible with whatever highlights we wanted and we covered so much of the island’s wonderful spots. He is an excellent driver and has a very comfortable Mercedes van. We will definitely book tours again with him when we return to this beautiful island.

5.00Luis was our tour guide. He was very knowledgeable and experienced showing us around all the touristic points so we could get the best pictures. He even taught us the various trees around town. We enjoyed the day very much at Funchal.

5.00If there were a 10 star rating then Diogo would definitely get it! We booked a half day tour to some of the best sights on the island. Diogo collected us from our hotel and our adventure started at Monte for the toboggan run and how fun it was! Diogo dropped us at the top and waited for us at the bottom, even taking some photos/videos of us. We went on to see some incredible sights with the highlight for us being the Nun’s valley, truly spectacular and not to be missed. Diogo is so friendly and we could spend as long as we wanted at each stop, no rushing. His knowledge of the history of the island was fantastic and we easily chatted away the 5 hour tour. Definitely the highlight of our holiday. Careful and considerate we can not recommend Diogo enough, he even provided us with some excellent restaurant recommendations for dinner. We’ve already decided to visit Madeira again and the highlight would be another tour with Diogo!

5.00We had a wonderful tour with Ricardo, our driver guide! He met us at the cruise terminal with our names on a sign and was very friendly and full of information about his beautiful island. He spoke very good English and took us to some absolutely lovely areas of this flower filled island. We highly recommend his tour company. You will not be disappointed! 5.00Following an excellent sightseeing trip with Diogo to the West side of Madeira we followed this up with a Full Day trip to the East side of Madeira two days later. Once again Diogo was an excellent tour guide and he took us to all the main sightseeing spots that demonstrated the differences between the two sides of the island. The highlight being the visit to the Nun's Valley - stunning scenery ! We thank Diago for his friendliness, professionalism, knowledge and excellent driving throughout and highly recommended for a Private Tour around the island

5.00We booked a last minute 5-6 Hour Tour at our cruise stop in Madeira. From initial contact with Diogo by email to the end of the trip everything was extremely well managed. Diogo himself took us on the tour. He arrived on time and was the perfect host throughout the trip, sharing lots of information about the island he so clearly loves. He also helped with good knowledge on queue times which helped prevent lots of wasted time at the main attractions (Toboggan, Cable Car etc). Even when our lunch break lasted significantly longer than expected, he was happy to wait and accommodate us. I would thoroughly recommend Diogo.
