Join us for a walk through history as we explore the center of Split, a 1700year-old city and ancient Roman city-palace protected by UNESCO.
We will stroll not only through the old town, the Palace and its cellars but also through 2000 years of history filled with both educational and amusing, as well as bizarre situations.
Meereen, the place where Daenerys spent three seasons, where scenes of the fight between slaves and masters (the "kill the masters" scene) were filmed, battles of Grey Worm and the Unsullied against the Sons of the Harpy, the death of Ser Barristan Selmy who saved Grey Worm, the dragons that Daenerys chained and later fed to the evil masters.
Who was Emperor Diocletian, the greatest persecutor of Christians, and why did he vomit after dinner? How much did the Venetians pay for Split? Why does a headless Sphinx guard the entrance to Jupiter’s temple?
We will show you what we eat and where to find the best food and local wine - Dalmatian specialties!

We went on this tour with a couple of friends. We're all fans Game of Thrones, so we thought it would be interesting, but it turned out to be more than just serial location. Guide showed us parts of the old town and Diocletian's Palace and explained which scenes from Meereen were filmed there.

I've watched Game of Thrones, and I can say that visiting historical sites that are 2,000 years old is very exciting, unique, and interesting. It allows you to witness the history of that era and, most importantly, experience its positive emotions.

Considering that it is off season, Im really grateful that this walking tour was not cancelled. It became like a private tour instead. It was a lot of fun and it was very interactive. Marko was incredible....from humming the GOT opening theme as his way of introducing himself to being able to speak high valyrian...so impressive. He also made sure to discuss the historical value of the city which is a big bonus for me. The guy has an ipad and we get to watch the actual scenes and get a side by side comparison and contrast of the actual filming scenes... He was very considerate of other people on site aside from our group, he was was attentive to answer all of our questions and he even volunteered to take our pictures... he was very patient, comical and kind...highly recommended guide and tour coverage...

Our guide was excellent and he made it fun! He knew his material and presented it in a unique and interesting way. If you're even slightly interested in GoT, then you should go.

I’m a huge fan of the show, but my husband has never seen a single episode. I was worried he would be bored while I geeked out over filming locations so I booked the Dracarys walk as a compromise, thinking he could just look at the architecture while I enjoyed the fandom. To my surprise, he enjoyed it just as much as I did. The guide was fantastic at explaining the brutal, bizarre real history of the emperor with the fantasy elements. My husband was fascinated by the stories of the cellars and why the emperor built a retirement home here. The videos we watched were cool for me, but the storytelling was what hooked him. It ended up being the highlight of our trip. We even followed their advice for dinner and had some amazing local wine. If you have a mixed group of fans and non-fans, this is definitely the activity to pick.

Split in the morning is beautiful, and starting the tour at the Golden Gate felt very majestic. We were lucky with the weather, but I think even in the rain, the cellars would be impressive. The architecture is just massive. The highlight has to be the Vestibule. The acoustics in there are amazing, and our guide explained exactly why it was built that way. Then seeing the tablet video of the dragons flying over that same spot connected the dots for me. It is a visual feast.

Mereen was my favorite storyline in the show, so visiting Split was like a pilgrimage to me. I wanted to see everything, including the throne room, the streets, the dragon pit. This tour covers all of it efficiently and with great enthusiasm. The reality of this location is surprising to me because they are smaller or different from what they are on TV. The tablets help bridge the gap, showing you how the camera angles and CGI tricked the eye. It was fascinating to see the "movie magic" revealed. This guide was patient with all my specific fan questions and never made me feel like a nerd. He shared my enthusiasm, which made the walk so much more enjoyable!
