Charent's Arch
The first stop is near the Arch of Charents, which is named in honor of Armenian poet Eghishe Charents, who wrote the best poem, dedicated to Armenia, full of true love and pride. From this place opens a breathtaking view to Ararat, probably the most stunning view of the Biblical mountain.
Garni Temple
The next stop is Garni Temple (77 A.D.) –it is the only standing heathen temple in the whole post-Soviet area. The temple gracefully stands on a high plateau overlooking the Azat river gorge. The surrounding area itself is incredibly beautiful. The greek-roman bath house with the mosaic, made out of 30,000 pieces of natural stones, as well as the ruins of the royal palace, will take you to 3rd century A.D. Not far from the temple of Garni (about 10 minutes’ walk), there is a cozy local restaurant with an amazing view of the temple, where you can relax and take part in master-class of tasting of freshly baked lavash – traditional Armenian flatbread.

Superb visit that truly deserves 5/5; nothing to complain about. We do not particularly like guided tours under normal circumstances, but this one was different from the others. First, there is the visit to the arch with a view of Mount Ararat, then the Garni temple, and we had enough time to visit it on our own and with the guide. Then, you visit the symphony of stones: a pleasant little walk along the very nice path. Then the lavash with the ladies who cook it and let us taste it, and at the same place, the guide suggests a cheap restaurant; we paid €14 for two, and there are 4 options, including one vegetarian. It was the birthday of one of the visitors, so we were treated to a cake for dessert! Finally, we went to see the monastery: magnificent! I absolutely recommend this visit as it is perfect for all ages and very dynamic. Thank you to Anastasia the guide who was truly lovely and very pleasant, always with a touch of humor. She also taught us to dance an Armenian dance. Everything was perfect 5/5!! (You might want to take a light jacket for the trip as it can be a bit cold at higher altitudes)

Hello there! That was the best tour ever! We had a guide, with a very beautiful name, Nectar ♡ She led the tour magnificently, interestingly, fun, while, informatively! She gave out sweet treats, joked, sang in the temple... the program was full. Wi fi and water in the keys on tour. Despite the rain, the mood is great. We weren't brought into stores, just history, culture and nature. The driver did a good job of gently driving us to facilities that didn't have an umbrella, handed us out. Not a bad restaurant for lunch with a beautiful view from the lunch window. Special thanks to the travel company for its understanding and attention

Unfortunately, a guide named Rubina did not reveal the full story of the places we visited. Everything she told me was memorized and told very on-duty. The guide did not organize the whole group well, did not wait for the whole group to gather in one place or another, but started telling when there might be a couple of people from the group around it, so even with the little information it gave, we missed a lot.

Not always easy to hear everything said inside the van. However, the guide, she was pleasant, informative, & you could converse with her during the day with ease. Driver was experienced, vehicle clean, water & cake provided. Lunch was optional & so excluded. Several options offered, & ordered ahead to the restaurant, located in a pleasant setting, + bread making demo. Lovely scenery, & interesting historical sites to visit. Not too keen, personally, on everyone being asked to introduce themselves to everyone else on the bus! The price for 6hrs was reasonable. More traditional Armenian lunch choices would have been preferred, to have added value & authenticity; but was nice enough, & included some of the earlier made bread to.

Absolutely amazing experience. Everything is so well organized and there is sufficient time to look at all monuments and places of attraction. Our guide, Gaya, was absolutely magnificent, incredibly kind and extremely knowledgeable. Definitely recommend!
