What if I told you that most travelers never really see Girona? They walk through its medieval streets, take a few photos by the river, and move on, unaware of the stories carved into the stones and the secrets hidden behind its ancient walls.
Without a local guide, it’s easy to miss the quiet magic that makes Girona unforgettable, the traces of Roman, Jewish, and medieval life that still shape the city today. Exploring alone means you might see Girona’s beauty, but not truly feel its history.
That’s why this Girona Walking Tour exists. Your guide tailors the experience to what fascinates you most, leading you through the city’s most iconic landmarks and the hidden corners only locals know. It’s the difference between visiting Girona and actually discovering it.

The Banys Àrabs in Girona are a well-preserved example of medieval public baths, inspired by Roman and Islamic bathhouses. Dating back to the 12th century, the baths feature a variety of rooms including a frigidarium, tepidarium, and caldarium, each serving different bathing purposes. The octagonal pool under the central dome is a notable highlight. The site offers insights into the historical bathing practices and architectural influences of the period.

I must thank Chris, our guide, for this fantastic walking tour in Girona. In just two hours, we visited a large part of the old town, including the Jewish Quarter and several locations where Game of Thrones was filmed. Girona is well worth a visit, and this tour is the perfect complement to learning about the city's history.

We took the morning tour, and our guide was Christian, a retired guy who loves history. The starting point was by the river, very close to one of the bridges. Crossing the bridge and entering the old town was a completely different experience. The medieval architecture left us speechless. This place looked like something out of a movie. It's no wonder they chose this location for filming Game of Thrones. Christian told us the history of the place with great passion and also showed us the main locations where filming took place. Girona is definitely underrated, so I highly recommend everyone visit it, you'll be just as surprised as we were.

During our stay in Girona we took this walking tour on the first day, to learn about the city. Girona is very interesting, being a mix of Christian, Muslim and Jewish. The buildings are very old and still preserved in perfect condition. The squares are spacious and the weather is wonderful (currently cold but sunny).

What tour? Had only a day and a half in beautiful Girona and wasted the morning waiting for the tour operator to show, which he didn’t, no communication as to why either, I just gave up, terribly disappointing. Am waiting for the refund …
