What To Expect
Bees are so much more than just honey! Learn about those wonderful creatures and the problems they face in the modern world. I will talk you through the secret life of bees, and even get your hands sticky, as you try some of the delicious Solta honey. You also get to see the internal workings of a real beehive without the danger of being stung! Also, we (think we) have one of the largest honey collection in the world! People that have visited us have sent us honey from all continents, as an effort to - give bees a chance - globally :)

Beautiful Family Tradition & Delicious Honey on Šolta

5.00We visited Tvrdić Honey in Grohote on 26 September 2025, and it ended up being one of the highlights of our trip to Šolta. The Tvrdić family has been keeping bees for generations, and you can truly feel the pride and passion behind their craft. The visit began with a warm welcome and an engaging explanation of how their bees live and work in the island’s unique environment. The presentation was informative without feeling overly technical, and it gave us a real appreciation for the effort behind each jar of honey. The tasting was wonderful—several varieties of honey, each with its own character, along with samples of their propolis products. Everything was exceptional, especially the rosemary honey, which captures the essence of the island. The shop is charming, and the family members were happy to answer questions and share stories. It felt like visiting friends rather than a commercial stop. If you’re on Šolta, this is absolutely worth a visit—not only for the delicious honey, but for the authentic experience of local tradition and hospitality. Highly recommended!

5.00We visited Tvrdić Honey as part of a biking group, with ages ranging from 15 to 70, and every single one of us had a wonderful time. The third-generation owner was absolutely charming - funny, engaging, and so knowledgeable about bees and honey-making. He shared fascinating insights about the art of beekeeping and kept all of us entertained and curious! The tasting was delicious (don’t miss the rosemary honey—it’s incredible!) and the whole experience felt authentic and personal. It’s the kind of place that makes you want to support a local tradition that’s been lovingly carried on for decades. If you’re anywhere nearby, make sure to stop in. You’ll leave with a smile, a deeper appreciation for bees, and probably a jar or two of the best honey you’ve ever had!

5.00My family thoroughly enjoyed our time with Goran. He is very knowledgeable about honey production, bees and their importance, but best of all, he can impart this with an ease and humour that will captivate all ages. The honey is obviously tasty too! Do be mindful to book in for the talk rather than just turn up to the shop. You won’t regret it!

5.00We listened to a long, very interesting, informative and very funny talk with a whole group about the importance and importance of bees in nature, as well as the work of beekeepers and the production of honey. This is highly recommended! Goran is a local beekeeper from body and soul in a third generation family business. He and his wife also run a small shop there, where you can buy both homemade products and honey from all over the world. But the main concern of them is: Give bees a chance! And support the beekeepers in your region! Because it is they who ensure that the bees that are essential for all people continue to exist and that they stay healthy! Thank you for that!

5.00This was one of the high points of the holiday. You will learn all about bees and their importance for human survival and their role in nutrition and healthcare. Goran is a wonderful host who made really looked after us during the visit and gave us a lift from the ferry and back again.
