Apgar Visitor Center
Apgar Village, nestled at the foot of Lake McDonald, is a lively stop along Glacier National Park’s Going-to-the-Sun Road. Named for early settler Milo Apgar, the village evolved from its farming roots into a hub for tourism. Visitors can rent bikes or boats, explore the Apgar Nature Center, shop for unique gifts, or enjoy local dining. Rich in history and cultural significance for indigenous communities like the Kootenai, Apgar Village offers a perfect blend of natural beauty, heritage, and outdoor adventure.

5.00Excellent day! The driver tailored our tour to abilities for a couple of short hikes and stops along the way. Excellent knowledge of the area. I really enjoyed being able to sit back, and enjoy the views and not worry about having to focus on driving. Lunch was provided from Park Provisions, a grab and go sandwich which was excellent! Looking forward to try a few of their other tours when I return next.

5.00This is a wonderful, small group experience, giving you the highlights of Glacier National Park. Tanner was the best tour guide, giving us insights to so much history about the area and some fun stories. He was beyond attentive to all our needs making sure we were good at every step! Tanner also took us to quite a few places that other tours don’t go to and as a result we didn’t hit any crowds! Oh and if you do go on this tour, definitely order the lunch! It was amazing! Thank you so much for a wonderful day.

5.00We had an excellent experience on our tour! Tanner did a fantastic job showing us the sights and making us feel comfortable and taken care of. It was very nice to see parts of Glacier National Park without having to drive around ourselves. Lunch was great, too!

5.00We had such a fantastic experience on this tour! Our guide, Tanner, was absolutely awesome—he really made the day memorable. He was incredibly knowledgeable about the area and shared so much interesting history that we never would have learned otherwise. On top of that, he had a great sense of humor and kept the whole group engaged and laughing. This was a great tour from start to finish, both fun and educational. Highly recommend Tanner if you’re looking for a guide who makes the experience special!
