Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
It is gorilla tracking day! Prepare yourself to encounter one of Bwindi’s gentle giants in the forest. You will wake up early to have breakfast and be at the park offices at 7:30 am. You will be briefed by the park rangers on all the procedures before you can start your trek. In groups of 8 along with the rangers, you will go into the forest in search of the mountain gorillas that call this dense rainforest home. Whereas the gorilla tracking can be quite challenging, meeting the gorillas will make all that sweat certainly worth it. Upon finding the mountain gorillas, you will spend one (1) hour with them after which you will be led back to the starting point by the park ranger. After gorilla tracking, you will be transferred to Queen Elizabeth National Park. If lucky, you will spot the tree climbing Lions in the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park. You will then continue to your accommodation for dinner and overnight.

The highlight of the trip was the hour we were able to spend with a mountain gorilla family. They were only a few meters away but ignored us, so cool! Also tree climbing lions and chimps later in the trip. The guide was great, as were the accommodations. One warning: this particular itinerary is condensed and an uncomfortably large percentage of waking hours was spent going from place to place (with lots of bouncing, especially when on dirt roads). If this bothers you, then extend the number of days!
