Leyla was a great guide and the trip was really beautiful! Very scenic (although long) trip out of Baku. It is a worthwhile trip if you enjoy long rides with wonderful scenery and a great guide.

First off, our tour guide Layla was amazing. She is the only reason why this is a 2 star and not a 1 star. I could have gone up to a 3 star but we just had a really bad experience (and I think it is a one-off experience). I booked for 1/1 which is what they offered online. I booked another exursion with a different company for 12/31. If they would have been upfront and not allowed 1/1 booking, there would have been no issues as I could have just moved around dates. But they then messaged me that they wont have a 1/1 and requested I change to 1/2. I agreed. BIG MISTAKE. There was a massive snowstorm that came in on Friday which had been on the forecast all week, and the tour company didnt cancel because they wanted your money. We didnt even get to go to Khinalig Village which is why I booked the trip. They diverted us after we were already far away from Baku to Shahdaq. They advised the coaster, which I and three other purchased tickets for, but they didnt tell us the line is crazy. It took us 1.5 hours just to reach the top where we were then stranded and over time, and they told us we had to find a private car to get to the bottom or we would be left and my flight was the next morning. Absolutely terrible experience. 1) My date shouldnt have been moved from 1/1 to 1/2 2) If the weather was forecasted to be so bad, and it is common knowledge that the roads arent passable in the snow, they should have canceled. 3) Dont advise the coaster if there is no way we have enough time to even utilize it. Under normal circumstances, I would see this being a 5 star experience, but for the 3 of us, it was terrible. 2 stars only because Layla was so nice.

My wife and I had so much fun on this tour. Our guide Leyla was awesome! She provided wonderful descriptions at all of our stops and we really appreciated her positive energy. There were only six people in our group so it made the experience feel very intimate. Thanks again Leyla!

The tour guide, Layla, is wonderful and beloved and helps with all the necessary details. One of the suggestions is to choose the bus well as it is not comfortable at all.

This was a wonderful experience, being able to see Azerbaijan beyond the glamour of Baku. The mountains and villages were quaint and beautiful in their own right. Thank you Leyla for being an exceptional guide. Your natural cheer goes along well with your information.

It was nice to see things outside of the city and get a feel for village life. Leyla was great and overall really enjoyed the tour. Long car ride but you had nice views much of the way.

What a great experience it was visiting this remote village near to the Russian border. They have their own language. A local family made lunch for our group in their house -- it was warm and delicious. The landscape throughout the journey was breathtaking. Leyla, our guide, is a gem. So much good energy and excitement in her, the experience would have been dull without her presence. Thanks for this nice experience.

Great time. Tour guide was lovely and very knowledgeable. The drive to the village in the old Soviet vehicle was the best part

We joined this group tour on 30 November 2025, and it truly was a wonderful full-day experience. there were 15 of us in the group. The schedule was well organized, giving us plenty of time for photos, sightseeing, and exploring each stop. Candy Cane Mountain is an incredible sight—make sure to hike all the way to the top for the best views. For the drive to Khinaliq, we transferred to a different vehicle (separate fee), ours was a Soviet-style minivan, which added to the adventure. The route included several scenic stops along the way for photos and short breaks Lunch prepared by the locals in Khinaliq was delicious; the red basil kompot and the meat-and-potato soup were especially memorable. For a stunning panoramic view of the village, we recommend climbing up to the Juma Mosque. A special thanks to our guide, Leyla, who not only shared valuable information about the places we visited but also gave us fascinating insights into the history of Azerbaijan. Her excellent coordination—from pickup at our chosen location, ensuring our comfort throughout the tour, and dropping us off afterward—was truly appreciated. Overall, this tour gave us a meaningful experience, new knowledge, and even a few new friends. Highly recommended! Side Note: Wear comfortable shoes (not necessary a hiking shoes). Check for the weather - wear comfy clothes, bring jacket to keep you warm during the stops on the mountains.

Make sure you bring 30 Monat for the ride to the mountain village. It’s totally worth it! I’ve been doing tours all over Europe and multiple in Baku but Leyla has been the most genuinely happy and enthusiastic guide I’ve met! She really made the experience worthwhile and even took great pics for me!
