Have you always wanted to see the blooming tulip fields in The Netherlands without the massive crowds? This guided bike tour alongside the Dutch flower fields takes place in the North of The Netherlands. The region you will visit during this tulip fields bike tour in the Holland region is home to the most flower fields in The Netherlands.
I'm a born and raised Dutch local from this region and have worked in the tulip industry since I was a young teenager. I have also helped people explore The Netherlands beyond the crowds since 2018. I will show you tulip fields without tourists, have insider information about the tulip and flower industry in The Netherlands and I will be able to tell you a lot about my own region and the history.
You will not only see endless tulip fields (pretty close to cities like Amsterdam, Zaandam & Alkmaar), but also historic mounds, water barriers, picturesque villages and more. Enjoy the best of what the Dutch countryside has to offer with a Dutch local.

Schagen
We start out tulip fields guided bike tour in The Netherlands in the city of Schagen and we end here as well. From there we cycle through the Dutch countryside, alongside endless tulip fields without tourists, see traditional Dutch windmills, enjoy the sight of cows and sheep in the meadows and admire the picturesque Dutch villages. I have created several routes, so the locations we visit to see tulip fields in The Netherlands are not the same every day. One day we'll be near the North Sea and the next we're discovering a whole other side of the region. The tour is between 25 and 30 km. But, depending on what the group wants, I can add in a few extra underway, as I know all the exact locations of the fields anyway.

A really amazing experience and very unique. Something not everyone can say they’ve done. A really enjoyable day out for me and my partner. Would recommend to anyone who’s looking for a non tourist tulip experience. Great opportunities for photos and to experience the Dutch countryside. The only reason we gave it a 4 star was that we would’ve like that all the knowledge that Manon has in her head to be gradually given throughout the tour. But if you ask her a question she is able to answer really well.

I would recommend this 100% if you want to see the tulip farms and not some touristy park. This is the perfect way to experience this while biking through picturesque quaint Dutch Towns. Manon was a bundle of joy and energy, took us through this picturesque tour and been the perfect guide.

Tulip fields were GORGEOUS! Your experienced and knowledgeable tour guide will teach you what you need to know about the tulips, and show you the nicest tulip fields on the route. Really appreciated the sturdy, reliable bikes and snack package too! Overall, one of the BEST and most memorable tours I've been on - don't hesitate to book this tour if you're thinking about it. Well worth the time!

We had a great time on this tour! Manon shared that she worked in tulip fields, so she's very knowledgeable about the growing and harvesting process. We took an easy train ride from Amsterdam to the meeting point. One other couple had signed up, so there were four of us plus our guide. She gave us all orange bags (it would have helped us find each other if the paths were crowded, but they were not that day) with a bottle of water and some traditional Dutch snacks (bread, an apple and a delicious stoopwaffle!). I had read an earlier review about requesting an e-bike. I messaged Manon about the terrain and she got right back to me and said it was mainly flat and typically windy. I'm generally a slow cyclist and didn't want to hold people up if there was a group so I asked for an e-bike. I ended up keeping it off despite the wind and rain, but it gave me peace of mind that I had the option if I needed it (for reference, I'm 47, asthmatic, and still blaming my extra weight on the pandemic ;) ). The routes we took were lovely - we got to see a bunch of tulip fields in various stages in the grow/harvest process. Only the last few minutes had us cycling on "busy" streets (We went through the town where there were pedestrians, other cyclists and cars, but it was all very manageable). This tour would be appropriate for regular cyclists, or even if the last time you were on a bike was years ago. If you can ride a bike and are fit enough to walk around a city all day, you will be fine on this tour. We had great conversations about tulips, Dutch culture, and life in general. Highly recommend!

Manon was a wonderful guide. She came with snack bags for everyone. She has such a passion for her home region. She is very protective of the tulip fields out of respect for the hard working farmers. Biking into the wind was a challenge at times but worth every minute.
