This was my first time in Newcastle, and taking this tour on my first day gave me my bearings and landmarks for the rest of my stay. Rob of Reb Beard Tours must know everything about the city, as we took our journey through history and the city. I loved seeing the old remains of the wall and Black Friars just as much as exploring the Victorian era Grainger market. Rob introduced us to many eateries and coffee shops along the way, and I used his recommendations over the following days for most of my dining and snacking. This tour also opens up the small, whimsical side of Newcastle, with Rob pointing out things I never would have noticed. This included Invaders pixelated art and the vampire bat behind the cathedral. I never would have noticed Cafe 16 at the back of the cathedral, but they had the most fantastic pastries of my trip. If you want to get your bearings in Newcastle, this tour is for you.

Rob was a fantastic guide who led us through Newcastle for 2.5 hours. He was always very friendly, eager to share information, and had lots of fascinating things to tell about the city. Rob is also extremely helpful when it comes to offering further tips and recommendations for places to visit in and around Newcastle. You can tell that Rob really appreciates the city of Newcastle! Thanks to Rob’s humour and witty anecdotes, the tour was very entertaining. I would definitely recommend it!
