Gail and I immensely enjoyed our full-day Vera Tour on October 12th. Amanda was an excellent tour guide, taking us to many filming sites, and providing a great deal of interesting and inside information on the stars and filming techniques. The driver, Aaron, was amazing as he navigated many of the narrow streets in the villages we visited. A thoroughly enjoyable day, as we toured the filming sites of our favorite British crime drama, and our favorite detective, Vera Stanhope!

What an enjoyable day out! The tour started on a very comfortable, modern coach, and we were able to watch relevant clips on the video screens along the way, with the guide, Katie, giving information to tie the locations, characters, and episodes together. She was also very knowledgeable about local history, the actors' backgrounds, and anecdotes about filming, as well as other interesting tidbits. Gary was impeccably skilled, driving us through narrow country roads with no worries. I am not really much of an organized tour sort of person, so this was a very pleasant surprise. It could even be done overnight, as I would have been happy to spend the night on Holy Island. The only spot I don't recall visiting, so we must have just driven by it, was Hadrian's Wall. The wall does, of course, run right by the city and right the way through, so that didn't detract from all of the other gorgeous sights. Highly recommend!

The tour was well organised and both the driver and guide, very helpful and informative. I loved watching the clips then seeing the stress for real. Thank you for a memorable and enjoyable day.

The bus was comfortable and had a bathroom on board, which proved very handy, although you need exceptional balance with the rocking and bumping over the roads! I found the videos helpful to orient my memories. The main push was to get on Holy Island, so there was a lot of drive-by of settings. The walk to 'Vera's house' was a gentle walk and I was grateful the current owners allowed us to walk up to it. I could have used a lot more time at Holy village to explore it and the area around it. We had a gentle drive back to Newcastle along the coast after a lunch stop at Seahouses. Our guide was knowledgeable about both Vera as well as the history of the area. A good day.

The coach was clean and comfortable. The guide was cheerful and informative and the videos helped us remember what happened at the specific locations. There was lots of other information generally about the area and villages to and from the Island. The timing of the tides for crossing to Holy Island worked out well for this trip. I would have liked about 30 minutes more on the Island. The walk up to 'Vera's' house was a gentle climb. A good day.

A really enjoyable experience! Our guide was very knowledgable and told us loads about both the series and the general locations. It was great to be able to see the clips from episodes featuring the locations we were visiting too. Well worth the cost!

Fantastic day 😀. So many great locations, Holy Island was amazing and we got to see Vera's home. Locations used for filming i.e Tynemouth , looking back you can remember these when watching episodes. It's a long day but is worth it you will not be disappointed. Katie a great guide and a neat idea to show clips of episodes based on the places you were visiting. Highly recommend doing both days if you can 😀.
