This is a self-guided audio tour (EXCLUDING ENTRY TICKET) around the ruins of Housesteads Roman Fort, one of the original forts built along Hadrian's Wall. On this tour, you'll see where soldiers and civilians lived. By the end of the tour, you'll also understand what remains of the best-preserved Roman fort in Northumberland.
Please note that this tour does not include entry to the fort. It is an accompaniment to your fort visit.

5.00It is quite a trek from the car park to the fort, but well worth it. It is probably the most complete Roman remains in Britain and a fascinating place to explore
