I could not fault my experience. If your taste runs to Rococo and Baroque architecture, furniture and paintings, then you won't get better in Ireland. The particular guide who showed us round was one of the beat I've ever encountered: clear, informed, educated, professional, friendly.I am disabled and. having reserved the wheelchair the day before, for my partner to push me round, had a front-row 'seat' at all times. The shop is one of the best at any 'culture vulture' location and the cafe sells only superb home-made food. A glorious experience

Guided tour is a must 5/5 Wonderful day out, easily spend 3-4 hours comfortably here, guided tour takes up to an hour. You are moved from room to room with the information officer and there are a few steps. The guide talks through the history of the house, its previous owners and the story behind the paintings that are still held in Russborough. I’ve done this tour three times over the past few years and still learn something new at every visit. They have land outside where you can go for a garden walk. There’s a shop attached to the house and it is well worth a gander. You’ll find Irish jewellery, kimonos, knitwear, wooden children’s toys as well as some kitchen ware. The cafe has really been revamped and the tables have glass tops with pressed flowers and other fun items to look at. Overall a wonderful places. Highly recommend to all ages

We really enjoyed our visit to Russborough House today, it was a fantastic way to pass the morning on a rainy long weekend. Our tour was delivered by Yvonne, who had a lovely way of imparting her knowledge of the house, especially with our children (12 &9). She engaged with them in away that made them feel so welcome and their questions as important as those of the adults. She made sure to point things out and draw their attention to things that she thought would pique their interest. The house is absolutely beautiful and there are so many rooms to view in the tour. Well worth the trip.

Fabulous house tour with George - every bit of it so interesting. The art is spectacular - a treasure trove of beautiful historic art. George explained the history and art with such insight and humour and answered multiple questions. The stories about each of the three families who lived there since the 1700s is fascinating and their love of Ireland lovely to hear. The stories about how the art has survived despite multiple robberies is remarkable. We arrived after a beautiful drive through the Sallygap and Wicklow mountains. A wonderful way to spend an afternoon. Truly one of Irelands treasures. Highly highly recommended.

I organised a day trip to Russborough House for myself and a few friends. We had a fantastic time there. The house tour lead by George was fascinating to say the least. George was informative, funny and and an absolute Gentleman who took the time to answer any questions we had. The house is so beautifully kept and I would highly recommend a visit there. We lunched in the beautiful cafe. The staff were amazing, very helpful and attentive. In particular I would like to mention Lily, who was on hand constantly for all the customers. Lily made our experiences memorable. Thank you Lily, you are an asset to Russborough house. The shop and exhibition was an added bonus and we browsed for quite a while. The lady at the counter was very pleasant. We will definitely take another trip to Russborough house. Mairead Co. Kildare

The 1-hour guided tour of the house with George was absolutely lovely ! The house itself is so well preserved, with respect for its history. Every piece of furniture or painting has a story, and George is a gifted speaker who shares his passion through this tour. Don't hesitate to book, it is 12€ more than well spent !
